Was at the second half of our club game on Friday as i was working and couldn't get to the start of it and the treatment of club players was a topic that alot of people were talking about
Why were games changed at such short notice for a County team social event?
Why did the county players have to go through a very tough training session on the Thursday leaving them unable to play anywhere near their best for their club?
Why were the games at 7.15 meaning that some club players could not make the start of the game?
When was the last time the county players trained with their club?
Club players don't get travel expenses to go to training or games, they don't get coaches to and from matches, meals after training and games or gear, gear and more gear club players don't get expenses for loss of earnings unlike county players or the very best of medical treatment but many do train 3, or 4 times a week and give their best for their club but they are being treated very poorly

Having taken a slight backseat from club football for personal reasons and reading recent messages such as above from "gaeelforce15" I'm concerned about the impact that county football is having upon the club football which has the local lifeline of the GAA. Clubs have endured so much imposition by the county football management where it has now dedicated the outcome of league games which makes one wonder if club players should be encouraged at all to participate in county football especially in Fermanagh as the county never seems to achieve anything worth while. This prompts the question...which should take priority club or county? as well as...Is the county board looking after the best interests of club football?

Surely most club footballer aspire to be able to play for their county and with that in mind the case it is clear that county comes before club. End of story!

Yes baffoon, you would favour county alright considering that under your main username, macca999 you seemed to have parked up your tandem since the NFL and have very little to comment about the club league games!

why are gaeelforce15, turniphead, the baffoon and macca999 making such an issue out of nothing as both the club and county football work pretty well side by side? unlike the above posters, i'm first a club supporter and then a county supporter and i would believe most others think likewise. if fermanagh do well in the c'ships then of course it will affect club fixtures but to say because the county football is permitted that club football is dead is not thinking rationally. my belief is that these posters made an issue out of the fermanagh squad having a knees-up last weekend because they are a load of begrudgers.

cillnaile it is very clear that you are out of touch with main stream club footballers. The issus that club players have is that the seasion is far to long and there are to many gaps in the fixture list. I have a low opinion of the ccc and club footballers are constantly being treated with contempt. There is a big difference between being a player and a SUPPORTER. A player must train three nights a week at least and then play a match, also most players are also involved with under age teams and running of the club. In my opinion the county board are killing grass roots of the clubs. Players like myself spend at least 4 or 5 nights a week at the field. FACT. So please do not talk about things you know nothing about.
Also to much football is played early in the season and at the end of the summer, football feilds are not geting enough time to recover. FACT

southfermanagh you represent no one but yourself! i know more about playing, assisting underage, managing and running a club than most so i feel i am qualified to speak on this topic. the point i was making that like most i am a club person first and then a county supporter and both to my mind can operate together with mayor problems. as i said in my last posting jealousy and begrudgery are the reasons behind some people like yourself find it hard to accept any benefits that our county team may get for all their commitment. if i was to guess you since it a new username you are using that you are the famous multi poster macca999 from newtown. maybe you come down sometime to kinawley to see how a club is run and see the fanastic grounds we have and then do something about yond bumpy pitch of yours!!!

cillnaile the only thing that Kinawley developments remind most of is their fancy clock and the timer doen't work half the time.

In respect of the main debate centering around club v county is a distraction and it is no different today than in past decades. As far as I can see there is no pleasing for some no matter what the county board do in managing fixtures.

At our Gaels club we had more players affected in the past than any other club in the county when it came to county football yet we put up with it and nowadays people like macca999 and others are jumping up and down on his tandem like a child with a rattle making unnecessary noises when they might have just one player involved in the county senior team.

The issue is blown out of all proportion. Mountains and molehills come to mind.

fermanagh boy i said it lastweek that no one should be affaid of the gaels!!! but i can understand why it was so low scoring because both teams are dirty an would do a lot of tactical fouling and plus if ya van keep the 2 mc aleers quite the gaels have nothing up front

I think newtown will have tougher tests to face in the next few weeks than they have so far that will see where they and the teams following them are, they may not find it quite as easy
