Echo that - super win.

Great club and I couldnt understand hot favourate tag on Oulart - Mt Leinster lads have great heart , guts and belief and serious hurling talent.

All started with a merger of 3 clubs down there in mid 80's. Some Wicklow clubs struggling to cling on could take a valubale lesson. St Marys and to a lesser extent this year Shamrocks have shown us what can happen with clubs combining with right attitude and preperation.

I'm sure hard and difficult decisions were made in the 80's for Mount Leinster - decisions that has maintained a high standard of club Hurling in Carlow decades later. The question in Wicklow is what clubs are on the verge of extinction if they do not merge with other especially rural clubs. Its obvious there are a number of clubs currently struggling to field adult teams. What is the future in 10 years time, what clubs will be gone? Any opinions?

I believe at least ten (maybe 15) clubs will be gone (by completely folding or forced merger) in under 10 years.

You make a fair point. Im not sure if you are specifically referring to hurling but I could list teams I see falling in to that bracket particularly the football side of things.

Starting north and working down. Im not sure that it is as bad in all clubs but the ones im naming I would have spoke to people within them.

Enisskerry
Kilmac
Newcastle
Kilcoole
Ashford
Laragh
Ballinacor
Barndarrig
Shillelagh
Coolboy
Knockananna
Strattford
Valleymount
Kilbride
Lacken

Some of these clubs are going well in spells so I certainly dont mean to offend them.
But if they are honest will admit there are challenges into the future.
