Any truth in the rumour that Keith Rossiter is part of the management set up?

Haven't heard that but agin it would be a very good move.

One of the most respected hurlers in the county still excelling for his native oulart. Would have played with all the current players and have encountered them all at some stage over his career.

Between himself and JJ there would be a serious knowledge there of the club scene throughout the county and the hurlers involved.

I hope it's some like Rossi, if it is the management team is looking well.

I'm all for change... but change for its own sake, it has to be right. Everything has a life cycle after all. I will reserve judgement on Davy but he's the man in the hot seat now so I hope he is successful. Davy unemployed for 16 days, pushed out by his own players and we decided that he's the man for Wex. I'm sure Davy has been waiting for the opportunity to manage Wex.. I hope the chairman has lots of fundraising activities lined up and has deep pockets. Major coup for Wex.. I don't think so.. a knee jerk reaction, definitely. Be careful what you wish for..

I would like to thank Liam Dunne for all his efforts over the past 5 years. Best of luck to him.

Personally i think this is a good appointment, new idea's and fresh impetus will make the lads a little hungrier next year, and for people crying out for any resemblance of game plan or system we will get one, although it may be the dreaded sweeper :)

Sorry, but if you're as wrong with everything as you are with that statement, you know very little. I'm the one that had a view and I fought the best way i could to advance it; that's what you do when you're passionate about something. My big fear was that we'd take anyonebutliamdunne and end up going backwards at a rate of knots. I am genuinely happy that if Liam wasn't retained, we got a high profile manager. I'm over it and my advice to you is to get over it too. My other piece of advice to you and anyone else with unrealistic expections is to stand back and let him at it. Looking forward to reading more rubish in about two or three years time, that's if he's given that long before you're looking for another new manager.

One of the Laois coaches for the last two years is coming in with Davy Fitzgerald, was also with him in Waterford.

A lad i work with cant speak highly enough of Davy's appointment, he said when it comes to preparations & structure there is no better man to provide it, a great shot in the arm for Wexford Hurling.

To be fair to Liam Dunne he redeveloped the structure, organisation and preparation in Wexford hurling , we need a little bit more in the line of tactics and game time management from Davy.

Here Keith Rossiter is coming on board as a selector. Interesting choice, I suppose it gives Davy an extra connection to Wexford hurling and in fairness Keith would of seen the best players in action up close. Hopefully a good choice.

Replying To dumptruck1:  "Not in least bit surprised, from the outset the process has been a shambles. Ask every Tom, Dick and Harry to apply rather than simply seeking out the best candidate. Then don't bother to contact the aforesaid Tom D & H. You couldn't make it up!! It will be a miracle if we stumble on the best candidate."
Looking forward to 2017, miracles do happen after all and circumstances brought us a really credible candidate. Davy Fitz's record as a manager over the last number of years is second only to Cody's. He has brought some level of success to every position he has held. There is no doubt he will energise the panel and bring serious passion to the team. He also has an ability to relate to a younger generation of players, don't expect a master tactician. When all is said and done we could not possibly have hoped for a better appointment and the addition of JJ and hopefully Rossiter shows some succession planning. Liam Dunne's reputation and standing in Wexford hurling folklore is and always will be assured. Roll on 2017.

Still could do a job in our full back line. What a player!
