Replying To mrfox:  "For last 15yrs (except 2008) there has always been championship on in may which is only weeks before the leaving not two months before it. There has never been championship on ONE WEEK before and leaving so why is it let go ahead this year.
This was raised by county board reps at last co board meeting but surprise surprise it has fell on deaf ears. My point is about player welfare and players doing exams having to playonly days before exams."
maybe your club should put a motion in for next years convention?

No point motions that have been passed at previous conventions are not been enforced.

County board is the club delegates who are ineffective in holding the management to account, hence the costs getting out of hand in the past, poor managerial appointments etc. Lots of bickering and grumbling but very little straight talk to constructive engagement. If club chairmen attended county board instead of specific club delegates, it could be very different.

I you read the posts properly people you will see that I was highlighting how our county chairman preaches about player welfare then brushes over it when it is brought to his attention. No grumbling just pointing out the obvious.
On a side note i don't put up posts that are not true unlike some.

Until we have a progressive county board, hurling will die in this county.
The standard of club coaching is this county is extremely poor
look at tonight, most of the boys playing u21 did not even have the basic skills of hurling.
If children do not learn the skills of hurling before 12-14 years of age it's too late and development squads will improve nothing!!!
People are falling out of love with this great game in wexford

I agree that we need really progressive, forward looking county board but we can't keep waiting for the arrival of a great white hope, one man or woman who will change everything!
We've 50 odd clubs and a coaching office. Surely both of these can and should be driving change and improvement?

Wexford have a great Camoige team. Ask the people behind camogie how they do it. They won 3 in a row recently. There is talent in Wexford GAA. It will take some time to get it back on track. Reaching a Leinster final should be the goal, as reaching the First division in the league also. Both can be done. Start with a 5 year plan for this.

Both the county team and clubs should be working together. liam dunne should have good working relationship with the clubs. And the clubs need to refrain from petty squabbling. If not, its hard to see ye coming on more.
