New Sponsor- Zurich Insurance

(Oldest Posts First)

Looks to be a feather in the cap for the county board commercial group, 4 year deal to boot. A far cry from when wexford creamery pulled out in 2008 and they were all winter finding a sponsor following that.

Shows hows much things have changed an international company on a new jersey.

Also ironic it was announced the same day as supermacs released their statement

You can thank Davy Fitz for that.

He has raised the hurling profile of Wexford to a top 5 county team.

When Davy goes, I fear a lot of this commerical activity will go tits up. Enjoy it while we can. Getting rid of local sponsors, is not a good long term strategy. Tom Doyle Supplies, Innovate, The People Newspapers and Gain, are all examples of local sponsors who have been brushed to one side in the last couple of years.

Innovate are gone, Chadwick's are taking over, despite innovate wanting to renew the deal, and the People are gone now too, despite wanting to renew the deal. There aren't holes in my argument, there are simply holes in your knowledge. Tom Doyle's deal on the centre of excellence runs for another year or two I think, but is gone as senior football sponsor.

Last week it was the PRO, this week it is the commercial manager!! Wexford GAA have increased their commercial income by almost double.. Surely it is a good thing that there is a move away from cosy deals where there is relatively low sponsorship money and loads of perks to a professional system of increasing revenue??

From what I hear, there are more holes in your knowledge..Some of the old deals were more a nod and a wink effort..

Some people aren't happy unless they're complaining about something

Innovate will be returning in a different role other than Wexford Park I hear.
Commercial manager is doing a fantastic job and so is the commercial committee.
Some people just love a moan without any foundation or statistics of fact to back them up

Wexford GAA is a very attractive commodity to sponsor now and that is great to hear. It is less than 10 years ago where we nearly had to beg to get a jersey sponsor.

Also reports of 370K operating profit for 2019 which is huge - when you read about big dual counties like Cork at an operating loss of 500K for the year

I applaud our management committee and commercial committee for their work .. I realise our commercial manager is a paid job (and so it should be) but most of these people are volunteers

And a commercial manager is basically paying their own wage if they're helping generate extra revenue.

hope the money goes into underage development, especially in underage football but we need to keep up the ante in both games.
