Good result in the end but they need to look at playing it more direct at times.

Keep within 10 with the Dubs and a run in the backdoor.

A very good win in Wexford and a monkey off the back as it is Louth's first win over Wexford since 1980. Joej was that one of your crew who let off a red smoke flare at the end of the match?

It Was Ollie. One of the wee buckos. He got a telling off from his dad afterwards.

Well Ollie

It was an older gentleman from another group who gave it to one of our younger group. Was a great day, long spin, great weather and a win is a win.

Sandybeach/Joe jaysus it looked like a scene from the Hill. You would wanna tell that older gentleman to stock them up for Portlaoise.

Great win on Sunday and a mighty fight-back when all seemed lost in the final minutes. It sets us up for a very entertaining evening in Port Laoise on Saturday week. It could also be a fantastic evening, especially if Carlow beat Meath in the first match. And we have nothing to lose, just follow the game plan with spirit and heart and effort.
I still think the forward lines needs strengthening - only 8 points from play from the 6 forwards who started. The Dubs wont even allow us that many and it wont be enough. I'd bring in Conor Grimes as a big target man with Ryan Burns and others feeding off him. Who do you drop, especially when Wayne is very loyal to those who have given good service during the League? Can Sam recapture the form of the Down game?
It will be interesting to see what happens. We have a lot to look forward to.

The finish suggests great fitness and strong mental character. Great credit to the team and management. On the day before Tipperary were beaten at home by a team that finished below Wexford in the league. So to beat Wexford in their back yard for the first time since the 1930s is something to be pleased about. Burns' impact was key, and I would agree, Ped that he needs to start the next day. The scoring return from the starting forwards was to low, and Ryan is a proven score-taker. I also agree that Grimes could prove a big threat in the square, arguably one of the few areas that Dublin are possibly slightly vulnerable. Mulroy was a key factor in our excellent league campaign but has been quiet by his standards in the last two games. I still think, on the big occasion in Portlaoise, he could have the game of his life. Corcoran, Woods and Duffy also made good impacts when they came in. Good position for Kierans to be in, with these "good" headaches. After losing to two Division 4 teams by a combined aggregate of circa 20 points last year, Wayne and this group deserve great credit for bringing pride and spirit back to Louth football.

Somehow I doubt that,he's the main man & only top player there and they always look lost without him, same as my own club wer without our 3 county men last weekend and lost as a result too.But I just find it weird that there are no other divisions on tonight as 3A is also a double league, seems to be a big push to get all 3B finished while Louth are still in the championship. If this was going on in division 2 I would be raging!

Incredible decision. This is not a star match and for many teams that forsake their players for county commitments, they find it hard to compete. Even the best team in the county are just surviving at the moment. He is the key player for the Westerns and they deserve the chance to have the full team for non-star games.

Durnin should not be put in that position.

What are the CCC thinking?

Are the county players not entitled to 2 weeks before a championship match to train or is that rule gone?

Why the rush to play all the games?

It's not rocket science the top brass in this county have a grudge against Tommy's club going on years, everyone in the county set up know about it and it's embarassing.Sure they even have another round of 3B games released for the night before the Louth v Dublin game now come on this is no coincidence. All the lads in county set up joke about this carry on.Not really fair on a very small rural club trying to win a bit of silverware, but as I said earlier even clubs like mine can't cope wit 'star' men missing so can imagine the hassle it is for them.

No Tommy wasn't playing against us the other night so they obviously must have thought they could win without him and also satisfy the Louth management team by not risking him. They shouldn't be put in that position though in fairness it's not right. But it paid off for them cause they won comfortably.Hopefully he's in top form against the dubs he's our only hope around midfield all season.
