(Oldest Posts First)

Hurlers went down to Antrim 0-20 to 0-11.
Gave a really good account of themselves in the first half but dod not show well in the 2nd.
We are too reliant for scores on 1 player but this was always going to be a hard game. Losing by 9 might not be a disaster because I expect Antrim to give out serious beatings to other teams and score difference could be a big factor. Away to Meath next week will be tough but if we grab a point or two we could be in the shake up yet.
We just have to get others scoring.

Another good performance today but we fell short. Good positives again and much better scoring. Hopefully we will get the rub of the green we need in coming weeks. Vital to stay up this year.

Crunch match against Mayo in 2 weeks. We should have enough for it but every match is different so cant afford to be complacent. Meath are a very good team so it was nice to see us competitive with them.

We fa e a long journey to Mayo this weekend. This is a game we have to win and we should beat them but away games can be difficult. The team is playing well and seems to be well prepared so we travel with hope.

Delighted to get a result again Mayo on Sunday last. I think we are even better than the scoreline says but we need to get more scorers on the board consistently. The weather didn't help anyone on Sunday but have to be pleased with the win. If we play them in a relegation we should beat them but there are one or 2 players who will have to up their game.

No relegation playoff in 2A. Bottom team gets relegated. We should be safe as we win on the head to head rule.

That's good news. We need to stay up playing a better standard of hurling. We will get better as we go along. I think we are good enough to go for a Christy Ring this year

Team is getting better all the time fair play the lads are in great shape. Kerry pay us a visit and this another game that we can win. 2 points and we can be back in the mix if other fixtures go our way

I wasn't able to make yesterday's game so I'm not really qualified to make a judgement on it but suffice to say that the result didn't surprise me. I wouldn't be getting too excited about Christy Ring prospects. If we have improved, Meath were the team we should have been able to beat. I would have been surprised if we couldn't beat Mayo. In my opinion, we have a little further to go to be comfortable in 2a.

Again horrible hurling weather but same for both sides. We may been beaten but the lads are looking strong and powerful. You have to think that our young team are showing serious physical improvement. I think we can only improve further the longer we stay in 2A. I don't think for 1 minute that Mayo will stay up. Christy Ring is well within our grasp.

A real hiding dished out in Tullamore. We have to thank our lucky stars that we have the points and head to head over Mayo who gave Meath a real run today.
Safety in 2A had to be our prioroty for the year so mission completed. Some of our players will have to have a real hard look at their work rate especially when they are chasing the game. Our scoring options is not good enough and we rely too much on one or 2 players.
Over all we look in good shape but we need to up our game for Christy Ring.

Will be tough next year in 2A. We'll have to beat either Meath or Kildare (who are in flying form) to stay up.

I haven't seen all the matches so far this year but in my opinion the younger lads have a ways to go, but playing teams like Offaly and Antrim will do that for them. Scoring rate needs to improve and the reliance on one or two to score needs to end. But really, in my opinion, we need to see Carnew and Glenealy back to their form of a few years ago for this team to improve. I would also like to see some of these Avondale and Rocks minors of the last few years starting to come through. These are clubs who can produce really classy county hurlers, particularly the Dales. Kiltegan would come into this too although I see a few coming into the picture here. Fair play to Western Gaels.
