2014 Intermediate Championship

(Oldest Posts First)

So the new season is nearly upon us. Who will make the move to Senior grade this year? After The Alley basically walked through the Intermediate Championship last year, would any team who wins this be able to make it Senior? Oylegate/Glenbrien went down two years ago but returned straight away, would they be able to do the same this year? Or is there another team there to make a push for the year.

Clongeen, Bannow Ballymitty Glynn Barntown and St James be the main threats Hard to know how the Duffery will go in the maiden season back in intermediate

I think hurlorhurley you should have read the previous messages and you would have seen that they were talking about hurling

Intermediate championship 2014 is the title for all intensive purposes we could talk about badminton or horse hunter trials and we would be covered by the heading

Glynn Barntown be my favorites for this Division they will be pushed closely by Clongeen and don't write off Taghmon

Oylegate will have to get back some of their 2012 players in be in the running.

Askamore should be doing better with their talent .

Gorey and Craanford will be in the running again as well as Oulart .

New Ross will need to improve to stay up with Cushinstown also a likely bottom four although they remain a gritty team

Intermediate A

An experienced Shamrocks won this last year trained by Lar Ronan in another tight division.

This year Ronan is with Marshalstown another experienced outfit.

Monageer Fethard Ballyfad might be the group where the winners will come from.

Well the groups draws are made, any predictions for the year:

Group A: Oulart The Ballagh, Ballygarrett, Oylegate/Glenbrien, HWH Bunclody, Rath/Cushinstown, Shamrocks.

Group B: Naomh Eanna. Blackwater, Craanford, Duffry Rovers, Ger O'Hanrahans, Askamore/Kilrush.

In Group A I except the Shamrocks to be a surprise package in Group A and I think Oylegate should top the group with Oulart in second.

In Group B, I actually except Askamore/Kilrush to come on top of this one. They have been training since last November and could be the surprise package of Intermediate this year. While Naomh Eanna got to the final last year, i still think they might struggle this season even though they have a young up and coming team. I expect Ger O'Hanrahans and Duffry Rovers to fight it out in relegation.
