The NY senior football standard is at the lowest it has been in recent memory. This in spite of the fact that there are only six senior teams. On the other side of the coin the Intermediate and Junior football standard is at the highest, overall, that it has been in years. There are at most no more than two to three points separating the Inter. teams in each game with some great football being served up. Great to see the likes of Brooklyn-LI Gaels, Dublin, Astoria, and the others, putting such an effort into the Inter. competition. Hope the Board has enough sense to promote the two finalists. The same goes for the Junior teams. Monaghan, Cavan, Rockland, and the others are serving up some entertaining stuff. Great to see newly formed Kildare team winning their first game after about seventy years. Although the senior fare is rather poor football, as a whole the NY football future looks bright. Pity more people are unaware of the good stuff being served up on weekday evenings.
