New York championship

(Oldest Posts First)

What is the football looking like for this season. Is there a sign of top players landing over? From talking to a few clubs it appears that there is a shed load of players landing out for the summer anyway. Are most clubs full up even?A few lads from home here looking to go out any advice for them. Very good players. County underage etc.

Refresh my memory. How many New York Board championships has Leitrim won in the last five years?

John you are very testy. Not one of the posts belittled any player or team. The answer to your question is: 12. Go figure.

Does anyone else wish that the Leitrim ass would shut his mouth and stop making a show of himself. FACT - Leitrim won one champonship in the last ten years, won with thirteen Kerrymen brought in for the Summer. FACT - The Leitrim ass was on the bench during the final. FACT - The Leitrim ass now has 1 medal ( won as a sub ) FACT - Multiple users on here have indeed multiple New York medal's, senior and junior, hurling and football all won on the field. FACT - The Leitrim ass training with New York as the token Leitrim man from the champions. As I said previously Mickey Mouse has a better chance of playing next week in the Connacht Championship.

John, I played in a total of twelve finals, at junior and senior level, in both hurling and football. Numerous players in New York have played in as many. Players of the caliber of Joe Carey, B. Hennessy, Paddy Donoghue (who won at least eleven finals, with Galway, Conn. Gaels Sr. and Jr.); Willie Lowery, Jim Lyons, Owen Cummings, Ian Conroy, Andrew Grady. I regret as do others that Leitrim does not bring more Leitrim players. I'm sure Mike Dillon, Eamonn Deane, Brendan Flanagan, Tom McGovern and other Leitrim supporters would prefer to urge on Leitrm born players. I applaud your efforts and energy on the field. They are second to none.

The 13 a side is very hard to gauge. Kerry have a lot of new signings.

Did anyone hear have Down folded?

the knockout competition is only 13 a side. when the championship starts in at the end of may, the competition is 15 a side.

cavan looks to be a genuine contender this year, they thoroughly outplayed kerry yesterday, winning the midfield and most of the breaking ball, if they could get a finisher or 2 they will be tough...they should have buried kerry in the first half, the scoreline was not reflective of the dominance of cavan
