Chachacha, I don't think its a stupid question, in fact it seems a very reasonable question from a person who isn't aware of the situation in Clogherhead. Would you happen to know who the person from Cavan is or is that a stupid question also,

You seem to know enough already that suggests to me that you know more than you are letting on. And it's this nonsense that annoys me.
The man from Cavan is Michael McDermott who won a championship with Ramor last year. Google him and you'll see he has pedigree and is a great appointment (short term).

You seem to have a low tolerance level. I'm not beating around the bush, i didn't know the lad from Cavan is in training the team in the interim until Colm came back, i dont think they are stupid questions and i dont know enough already that would lead you to suggest i know more than i'm letting on. However i did know Donnelly was away and i simply inquired had the Dreadnots got anybody in. This is after all a Public Forum. You obviously know more about the topic than i do and i appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the forum. I do know who Michael McDermot is so i'll not need to google him and i agree with you he is a very good appointment all be it in the interim.

Amazing that over a quarter of all clubs are changing managers. There can be only winners of three championships and three leagues in any year involving the club managers. Is it all about winning?
Interesting to see how many of the 2017 managers will reappear in new colours next year.

Well if they haven't they are crazy because they had a terrible year going by their squad and underage structure, their manager is clueless .Kit Henry would be the man to bring joe back to ardee if they'd go and get him.

Underage structure and supposed results sounds good on paper.in reality its different . when these lads finish at minor the world opens for them. They finish school...go to college or work or travel or nothing. They get busy and realise life is about working , studying etc and many of them lose interest etc. Not too many make the immediate step into the senior team. Did I read lately that the Geraldine's have been in 7 of the last 10 minor finals? Where is the breakthrough. Kerry won 4 minors in a row.where are the lads who won that first minor and the second? I'm just saying didn't see the Pats winning minors, or mattock or O'Mahonys or maybe they did I'm just debating here I Dont buy into underage success too much

St. Pats minors Valley Rangers won the minor championship in 2002. None of the team had played for the senior team that won the ACC Cup earlier that year. However three of that minor team, Paddy Keenan, Dessie Finnegans and Owen Zamboglou started the senior final the following year. They were on the team that won the replay v St. Mary's. They and seven others went on to win up to seven SFC medals. Five of that ten were still playing senior this year. They kept their appetite.

The Mary's have a very young team at them minute that are blooding young players every year, they should've won that final last year bad management calls cost them bigtime and this years Championship has been a disaster for them. But I feel if the right man takes over them they would be very hard to beat even with their current team. But as we seen with ardee big name management doesn't guarantee success such as redmond & sheedy.Player power is bad in that club but surely the right man is out there for them to push them on to success.

Too many chefs in the one pot above Gooch and they want everybody's share too they should do well with the right man alot of good young players coming through just the same old heads abover making decisions ruining there chances n old player power

From what I hear, the boys in Ardee like to party party and this a big factor over the years in winning jack all and this not good enough for club of their size. Also, they talk about underage structures, not so much structures just fortunate to have good bunch of youngsters coming along at the one time. Looking from the outside in, would appear too many cooks above but don't forget they not a super power anymore and you have to go back to 50s for that to be true and the trophy cabinet farely bare last 40 odd years. Anyway enough about Ardee, up the Gaels

Yeah Geraldines will contest their 7th minor final in 10 years next week. This is a breakthrough in itself. It has made Gaelic football the number one sport in the parish of Haggardstown / Blackrock over the past few years. Gers won the intermediate in 2013 and then added the Leinster final also. Great days for football in the parish. Disappointed in the senior over the past 4 years but reached the senior quarter finals each year and are playing senior league also.
The point is that there are no shortcuts to achieving success. You must do the groundwork at underage level and hope that it will benefit you in the long run. It is benefitting the Geraldines atm but just not as much as the supporters would like. Patience is a virtue.

Listen the size of Black Rock and haggardstown is huge.I'd love to see a population breakdown of their catchment area. Probably biggest in the county. Took a Sunday spin a few weeks ago when the weather was good for an ice cream and was amazed and the boom in it.houses everywhere
