They looked good on the Web. Daltons have some very good hurlers Tumulty, Mccabe, O Rourke, Kearney the sub no 18. Brownstown were a dissapointment. The big Brownstown players were poor.
I though streaming really good if a bit expensive.

Athlone Senior Football dark horses. Liam McHale one of the best coaches in Ireland.
Good players too. Could easily reach a Senior Final.

Daltons will be hard beat, they finished 3rd in group 2 last year behind Delvin and the wood, but their better underage should see them pass out Brigids and the wood. They play Raharney next, that'll be interesting.

They could make a senior final, but they wouldn't do it easily. Most likely they will make the 1/4 final, but they would be underdogs in every game thereafter. Their first game against Garrycastle will tell a lot. I've said it already, I don't think there really is a dark horse - the winner will come from the same 3 who have won the previous 11 championships between them. Maybe if a shock is to come then this is the year for it, but I just don't see it.

Correction, McHale thinks he's one of the best coaches in the country.
Wonder where Athlone are getting the funds for that?

I for one haven't seen anything from Athlone in the last couple of years to suggest that they will challenge at the business end of the championship, with or without a new manager.
There seems to be a pattern emerging of clubs in the county seeking high profile managers and throwing money at them in the hope that it will work miracles, the Downs and O Mahony being another case in point and even the likes of Multyfarnham doing the same with Rowley. Doesn't mean they'll get any further along than they would have with a good local man with knowledge of the players. You can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear as they say.

I presume the unfinished competitions will be the first to be played by the CB?
Will anyone have the bravery to report the clubs doing collective training over the past few months?
