Podge Doran

(Oldest Posts First)

I was disgusted when I read the reports in the paper this week about this. I have to ask what was the referee at to think that a blow with a hurl which could break a mans jaw doesn't warrant a red card. Its a cop out to say that this issue cant be revisited just cause the referee has dealt with it already (incorrectly)

Very surprised that this happened against Shamrocks, historically a very clean team.

I've played against them many a time in hurling and football over the years and never once has there been any you could call out of order... i'm agreeing with Ice on this one.

Still it is a very unfortunate incident but if the ref didn't see it, is it was off the ball then how can he give a red???

Hope P Doran recovers soon though.

If the ref... Or another official didn't see it then he shouldn't have given any card. The fact that he gave a yellow means that no further action can be taken. If he did see it I can't understand how he only wud issue a yellow

Tough on Podge ...deccnt guy, wishing him a quick recovery. He being out for 2 to3 mths more or less scuttles Oylegates chance of returning to senior which was good as I think it was between themselves and Askamore. Iam told it was a fairly harsh pull probably deserved a red but ref was probably unsighted where he was. sort of expected when one lines out against the shamrocks in championship

I don't know is it any coincidence but I hear the shamrocks had two players sent off yesterday. Retribution or just more of the same? Anyone at the game??
