Liam Griffin's Role

(Oldest Posts First)

Anyone hear Griffin's interview on Newstalk? One of the most passionate and self-effacing men out there. He acknowledged that he's a coach but basically said all he does is pick up cones and carry water. I've heard the man speak before and he's the most heartfelt fella you could listen to. He'd be corny if it weren't for the sincerity of his beliefs. He'll unabashedly call up the ghosts of 1798 as quick as he is to quote business men.

I'd presume his role is as much motivational as tactical, yeah?

He is officially a forwards coach but he is giving speeches after private training sessions. The man is an incredible speaker. Had the privilege of a pre match speech from him before. If he told you that you could fly you'd jump off a building without a second thought

Presume you won?

Whether it's Griffin or, more likely, a combination of various personalities, this bunch of hurlers look to have great resilience. I'd just worry about their seeming inability to really bury a team. You know, the paralysing fear of victory and all that jazz. Hopefully this Sunday it'll come perfect.

It's kind of funny you are saying they cannot finish teams. Here are a couple of questions:
Are they still in?
Have they lost their last couple of games?
Can they finish a team off?

Think about their last game. How many teams would have folded after being up by as much as they were and then get pegged in and actually go behind and still come back and win. Think the answer to my 3 questions is yes.
