Sorry, not meaning any disrespect to junior championship, I enjoy all grades of Gaa, just think it's a bit premature with the championships almost 3 months away and games just about back

It looks like the most open Junior championship in a few years, all 12 teams are guaranteed at least 5 championship games, with 8 of those teams getting to play at least 6 championship games, senior clubs can't be accused of their junior sides getting preferential treatment, I initially fancied the Downs but it's impossible to confidently call a winner anymore, same in the Intermediate championship.

It's a revised draw that was only made the other night, Championship starts in first week of August . . .

Fair enough. Do you think that 8 out of 12 teams in a championship is too many to be qualifying for knockout

I myself think its spot on, 2 very competitive groups, very simple format, and plenty of football for lads to play . . .

There's lots of games to play in the league as it is over the next 2 months, then 5 championship group games each. That's lots of football. I just think that 30 games of football to eliminate just 4 teams is excessive and not necessarily good for improving standard and competitiveness. I would advocate fewer teams qualifying or smaller groups like last year, this leaves less room for slip ups and more to play for which in turn leads to better games and improved standard.
