I think Tipp have a fairly ok team for Sunday. However I in the view that Galway are very strong at 6 , 8 , 11 , 14.

Has Bonner Maher the ability to win puck outs etc over Tony Og???

Has David Young / Brendan Maher the energy & work rate for 60-70 mins to cope with Ger Farrager???

Cyril Donnelan on his day can do serious damage a good player to field a high ball & has buried O'Mahony many a day. Will we see more of the same Sunday??

The main man Joe Canning. How do we keep him scoreless like KK did.If he gets inside Curran were ******!!!!I can see Joe getting about 2 r 3 goals if Curran is not tight.

Whats the view of the fans???

It's got to be the half forward line just because it's a different one to the cork game and hasn't really been tested yet, but hopefully there lads that will work hard at closeing down the galway half back and we have callinan and hennessy in reserve too... Young at midfield hasn't been tested yet either i don't even think he's played at midfield for club or county before??? But the lad is a good hurler and hopefully he can do the job.

Also with galway their full forward line is key hopefully the lads can handle them.... but there are options at full back if canning is getting the upper hand on curran namely fanning and paudai maher, but curran seems to be getting back a bit of form again..... Goals will win this game I think

Wasn't sure about bonner he dosen't win much clean ball off puck outs but seen him in the u21 match and against offaly particulary he wins a lot of ball tackling and harrying the half backs... he needs to add scoring to his game still lacking a bit of confidence in front of goals i think.

Also Galway aren't playing one of the best center half backs in the country Lee... Regan is good but lee is better.

I was expecting Seamus Callinan to be named there for height as its a very small half forward line!!Low ball I think!!!

Bonner Maher did harry for poession against Offaly fought well for ball & set up a few score's.

More needed from him on the scoring front though to be recognised as a forward.

I just hope Sheedy has played his cards right I am a worried man after Cork showed how vunreable we really are when under pressure.

when have you ever seen callinan catch a clean ball from a puck out... he'll always try to bat it down or pull on it over head... for a man of his height and strenght he dosen't use it that's one of the most frustrating things about him..... He's the potential to be a great and should be walking onto that tipp team hopefully it'll be the kick in the **** he needs.. the man got serious talent.

Yup your right HAG he has serious talent & I dunno why he has not utilised the form we see at Club Level into County. He should be on that 15 but I suppose you have to earn it & he has'nt.

Half forward line is the problem as it has been since 2001. Will McGrath drop deep into a play maker role the O'Brien played last year? Bonnar and Ryan are there for their work rate more so than anything. I think Kilkenny would eat those two young lads alive.

It would be great if Callinan found some form!!

Mickey cahill fairly had him in his pocket in the couty final last year.... seems if the team plays well callinan plays well... such a naturally gifted hurler should be able to win a game by himself and play well even if the team dosen't play well.

If we get threw this and get a show down against kilkenny i don't think these tactics will work I think the only way to beat them is 15 against 15 and winning as many individual hurling battles as possible...

Well lads I read a few of your comments and I think Tipp will win but it will be close, Tipps problem is the half forward line, I just hope Cummins doesn't keep lashing ball down on them if we are getting beat there, if that happens I think we are done. I'm starting to fancy Ryan a bit he keeps the scoreboard ticking over and I don't think he has played to his full potential yet. Curran is getting a bit of form back but he will get really tested tomorrow if he starts full back. I hope the u-21s don't feel the burn with all their commitments at this time of year with club and county, its now we need them to step up again.

i dont rate gearoid ryan or patrick maher.. just not good enough for the statring line, anyone that says they are , are just codding them selves, id have callinan, john o brien or benny in there way before any them, even pa bourke or mikey heffernan wud be better, hope im wrong, but ill be really surprised if either them play any good today.. oh how we miss paul kelly now..!

Skippy no offence but looking at the time you wrote that post I take it you were'nt in Croker yesterday at the match???

Ryan & Maher had good games & I think were starting to see a half forward line that could be dangerous.

Id love to meet KK & have Ryan on Tommy Walsh.Id reckon he'd do a cleaning job on him.Ryan has no fear & I know that myself as I marked him when Templederry were Intermediate & I had to be taken off.

There so many ryan's in templederry that are class hurlers.... remember playing against them years ago and if you were marking a ryan you were in trouble.... twas micheal ryan and paul ryan in my day.... think paul got a very bad injury and didn't make it.
