So, a refund of €40 per season ticket - any idea how they came up with that figure?

It appears random alright.

What people got: 5 * league games = €100

What people would be still entitled to (using the old system - Super 8's etc. on which the purchase of the ticket was based): (at least) 2 * league games (minimum €40 / maximum €60) + first game free (€25) + subsidy on subsequent game(s) (minimum €5 / maximum €30) = €70 (min) / €115 (max)

What people would be still entitled to (using the new system - no league final / straight knockout championship): 2 * league games (€40) + first game free (€25) + subsidy on subsequent game(s) (minimum €0 / maximum €15) = €65 (min) / €80* (max)

* Only preliminary round Ulster and Leinster teams could have saved €80 via their season ticket
The max Sligo, Galway, Cork, Kerry could save is €70
All others could save €75 max

Its a bit rich charging €80 for the ticket when only 8 teams could potentially maximise this saving and, of these eight, the best odds team (Monaghan) is 28/1 to win the AI (followed by Cavan - 250/1, then Louth / Longford / Offaly at 1000/1 etc.)
