Minor hurlers 2014

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Minor hurlers have endured a tough few weeks on the practice match circuit, to be expected as they are three months behind the other counties.

Up to eighty players if not more have being in and out,

A victory over a under strength Waterford last week in Piercestown has given some hope after a heavy defeat to cork.among others

A huge number of goalies have being in and out despite the presence of Gorey's impressive Darragh Hughes goalie for the county schools it looks like management have not found who they are looking for. Two new goalies in this week two weeks before first championship outing

Felt Dublin's first touch and ability to win the ball in the air was the biggest difference between the teams,i was worried early in the 2nd half that Dublin could pull away but give the lads credit they never gave up,taught Sam Kelly from crossabeg hurled very well and the full back Michael o'brien was gud also

Jesus lads you must really have a dislike for us the minute!! How we won that one I dont know! Wexford better side on the day. That big 14 was knocking frees over for fun then at a crucial time in the game he missed 2 in a row. Had he put them over he would have killed us off. Obviously delighted that we never stopped and nicked it in the end but again the concern is there that we just dont have the forward power. Just dont look like scoring goals at all

Unlucky and sick to my gut that we cant seem to make the break through. I think there was a leinster final there for the taking this year and that the sad thing about it. However we are improving all the time underage and NEED TO KEEP IT GOING now. Well done and hard luck to all involved.

Great effort from the players and management considering the troubles of the winter, the main thing now is that at least 3/4 of them graduate to the senior panel, last years minors were also beat in the Leinster semi final but we got Ryan,McDonald, devitt and Kevin Foley from that team
