Murphy and Barry retire

(Oldest Posts First)

Just wanted to say thanks to David Murphy and Redmond Barry for their years of service. The team has come a long way in their time. Two brilliant players for us who will be missed a lot.

Couldn't put it better myself I am pretty sure the reason I became so passionate about wexford football was because of David Murphy or an awkward man he had style ha but last two years and I hate sayin it as he is my favourite all time wexford footballer he was a but of a liability in coke park when facing a speedy centre forward.

Although red had a bad year last year from his high standards he has even a huge servant not just to football but to wexford gaa in general. Dynamic player and well never forget his three goals against the dubs or that blonde hair

I've watched these two men line out for Wexford for over ten years. They are a credit to themselves and their clubs. They owe Wexford nothing. Both of these were good enough to get on any Countys team. And both of them have been instrumental in all the success that their clubs have had over the past 15 years. Thankyou for your service boys.

fitting that they bow out together, great servants to wexford football and best mates. wouldnt be 100 per cent sure that weve seen the last of red in a wexford jersey.im sure hed find it hard to resist a call from liam dunne. still one of the best club hurlers in wexford and in great shape.at 32 i think he would still have something to offer.

time is the only opponent no man can beat, these 2 lads beat many's the opponent.it's a pity they had to retire without any leinster or all-ireland medal.we were so close twice.
but thanks for the service lads.
