Query on Club transfers

(Oldest Posts First)

If someone is registered with a club in the New York can they move to a club within the NACB without transferring back to their home club in Ireland first? And Vice Versa, could someone registered with a club in the NACB transfer direct to a club in New York? I was looking through the rule book but could not conclude. if someone could point me to the correct rule that would be great.

yes you can transfer to another club, American or otherwise without transferring back to your home club. unless of course it was a summer sanction, in which case you are still registered to your home club, but I'm sure you are aware of that.

Steelfixer, if the player came out here on an intercounty transfer he is the property of his new club, not club in Ireland. Once a player signs an intercounty, his home club loses all rights to him. Its different with a sanction. With a sanction, he is still property of his home club and is more or less on loan to the sanctioned club. Sanctions release you on loan to a club where as an Intercounty releases all right to you period. Hope this answers your question. So if a player wants to transfer from NYGAA to NAB (or vice versa) all he would need is to fill out a Croke Park approved Intercounty Transfer to his new club and give it to his club secretary.

On this subject, just wondering is there a deadline date you have to have an intercounty transfer approved by when transferring to a NY club? From what i remember, transfers (not sanctions) have to be approved by end of march for NACB clubs.

I believe there is over 30 inter county footballers heading over to play in the states this year as deadline day approaches. Anyone know if this is true? And is there anyone to look out for
