Brian Burke ( New Tipp Selector )

(Oldest Posts First)

Good to see Brian Burke joining the Tipp senior football management team. He was a great player for Tipp over the years and if I'm not mistaken he was the first Tipp man to play compromise rules for Ireland. I think he roomed with Jack O'Shea down under in 1990. If he is half as good as a selector as he was a player he will be some addition to the management team.

Best of luck Brian!!

You are right. Brian Burke was the first Tipperary player to play International Rules against Australia. The others were Derry Foley and Declan Browne. he should do a good job as a selector.

Burke should be a great addition. Also thanks to Johnny Cummins for the last three seasons. A good man to have in any management set up.
