Under 21 Munster Final

(Oldest Posts First)

So lads whats the story for tonight??? Weve been quite on the U/21 scene this year cos all the hype was around Clare / Waterford. Many of ye heading to the game???

Can we topple the champs??? I think our backs are in for a rough night with the skillful Clare forwards but I think our Midfield is slightly better.

However im worried that the 7 lads will have fatigue factors from Sunday.

Tipp by a point again like in 2008!!!

Excellent Result Well done to the U-21s.

Tipp 1-22
Clare 1-17

We should have been down by 12 points in the first 10 minutes. Great character shown by the team & looks like we have some good talented players coming through.

Brian O Meara and Paddy Murphy were brilliant in the air and brian set up several scores including one for himself and Murphy took his scores brilliantly in the last ten minutes.

Don't think they would have went 12 points up as the penalty came straight from the save.

Hopefully this team can drive on from here.... after 10 minutes there no way you would have said tipp would have been up by 3 at half time.

It's a long time since you could say on a tipp team that the tipp forward line is stronger than the tipp back line.... in reality tipp played 8 forwards on that team and the two midfielders Henessy and Mcgrath are top forwards too.... great thing to see in tipperary hurling.

Massive turn around for Murphy too he was poor against cork fantastic last night 4 points in a row at one stage.... great high fielding all round from the team.

Also the more i see mikey heffernan the more his style of hurling reminds me of tommy dunne.

Absolutely delighted with this win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The talent we had on the pitch last night was pretty good. Like we had two all-stars for starters.

8 Tipp seniors, 5 started the last 3 championship matches, O'Meara started against Cork. Hennessey did well off the bench against wexford.

But save a special word for Sean Carey who has u-21 hurling and football medals in his pocket now. Fair play to you!!
