Just home from Newry and I must say they were the friendliest supporters I have ever come across at a GAA match. I lost count of how many of them wished us a safe journey home. Really sound people up there.

You're dead right Creb, lovely people up there. The match itself was very poor in standard, alot of sloppy passing, Galvin have away 2 or 3 balls in the first half, Donaghy was dispossessed very easily on a few occasions. I don't think he knew where he was supposed to be playing. I was very satisifed with midfield, even though they went missing at the start of the second half. Down owned the ball for the forst 20 minutes but kicked some awful wides. We started to feed better ball in to the forwards and Barry John Keane kicked 4 lovely points. Declan took some heavy punishment, I feared the worst when he took that frontal charge in the second half. The referee was very green, I haven't seen him before. Darran was a big loss. Galvin jumped into the middle of 4 Down players to grab a bouncing ball late in the first half and we ended up getting a score from it. I think he's in for a big year again. Crowley was very impressive, he gave a couple of good hard hits and made a few forward runs, very encouraging, he seems to have gotten alot stronget. Maguire continues to impress.

Overall, a good dogged win on the road, and we move on to Donegal in Killarney on Sunday.
