I said if we got 15,000 down there. I didnt say to expect it! I would expect 30,000 in total to be honest!

Besta luck Monday lads... may the best team win. Ye needn't think that Waterford will go up to Thurles thinkin weve got a handy draw far from it. We know all about Clare hurling and the physical challenge ye pose in Munster championship. Yeve got some serious talent coming through and this is a mountain to climb as far as were concerned. For the record, all this talk of a Cork-Waterford final in Pairc Ui Caoimh is nothing to do with Waterford..... I beleive the Waterford players are disgusted that such talk has come out in the preperation for this do or die clash.

Lads, in 2008 when Clare beat Waterford in Limerick the total attendence was 17,365 according to RTE
http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/championship/2008/0601/clare_waterford.html

This was in spite of the fact that the Gaelic grounds is right next door to the Clare hurling stronghold and also that Waterford were gearing up for a right crack at Munster/All-Ireland honours.

Expecting 25-30,000 seems way over optimistic in my view given that very few people in Clare think we have any realistic chance of winning, and also that Waterford have been pretty low key this year so far. Also, the bank holiday Monday, plus it being on TV.

For what it's worth I'll be in the stand, (in hopeful/optimistic mode)

Quite happy with the team selection. Actually think we have a decent chance if we play to our potential.

Missed oppertunity yesterday I feel. This team, if kept together, has serious potential to be challenging for the Munster championship in the next 3 years. Full back line played very well which I was most worried about. Honan also showed Dan the man how to play up front. Everytime he touched the ball he scored.

Brave performance yesterday Waterford had more big names to bring in such as the Prendergast brothers & Ken McGrath

Its the way to go though what would have neen different if we has Griffin Carmody or Gilligan.

Though BOC was fierce disappointing is lucky to be on not to mention captain

Was it a mistake to take off F Lynch although he wasent doing all that much Honan appeared to have more room when he was there

Steele - What are your thoughts now given the dust has settled on yesterdays game? You predictions of a big win for Waterford were untrue. You must now admitt there is much more to this Clare team than you originally thought...

Good performance yesterday and with a bit of luck we could have got the victory. Can't fault the players for effort and hopefully this game will bring them on a lot. We really need to win the next game against a beaten Leinster semi-finalist.

This was a good win for Waterford, and it's a good sign of a team that can gound out a win in a close game. They got some great scores in the end, and their scorers were spread very evenly around the field.

Fairly impressed with Clare yesterday good strong hurlers who may yet go well on the scenic route, but i was always convinced we would win, It reminded me of the derby where Vincent O Brien would put in a pace maker, who would be over taken by his more fancied runner in the final furlong.
Waterford no world beaters i know that, but i think with better weatherr conditions and a more balanced team selection we will put up a decent performances against Cork/Limerick in the Munster final.
I was gone off Clare but lately i find my self recovering a certain amount of affection for them, so i genuinely wish them well in the campaign.
At the end of the day we have more in common with the likes of Clare, Limerick, Offaly, Dublin Etc, then we have with the likes of Cork, Kilkenny or Tipperary.

John Conlon is an excellant young player and if he were from Kilkenny I have no doubt that he would be there or there abouts. He was targetted by Waterford as a danger man and everytime the ball was pucked out in his direction he was flooded by 3 or 4 Waterford players.

Very impressed with this Clare team on Sunday. Their style of play (skillful, direct, high tempo) and skill levels show true potential.

They won a load of 60/40 balls and were very compsed in posession. Honan also a great assett.

With a little more experience (and that wont be long coming) I see them doing well.

Hurling needs this.

I am not going to get into a debate about hurling with a Sligo man, who obviously hasn't a notion of what he is talking about. Go onto a football tread!
