Rumour has it that he drives a second hand D reg Renault Twingo. The Kerry media mafia will be up in arms :). On a serious note, sweet Jayzus was there nobody else? Bring back Joe Dolan, I mean Eddie Kinsella. Gough won't be giving us any decisions anyway. He's still rattling from the bias bashings of 2019.

I can name but I won't. Is that who you were talking about or other inter County players?

Rumour has it he bought a Bros tape in Virgin Megastore back in the 80s on Aston Quay, followed by a Slush Puppy (BLUE) in Dr Quirkey's Good Time Emporium. Its mad decision to be fair, just no need, given the historic involvement and narrative and history with the fixture - juts unnecessary, im even suspicious its to create controversy for marketing profile. Kerry wont be happy - because some lad from Balyboden St Endas changed his tyre once. While Dubs will think he caved in the first game for the five in a row - which he did for my money. If my memory is right and it was him, i also remember him being hit with missiles from the Kerry supporters in the stands leaving the filed after the Semi final were Maccer hit one of theirs with a hard shoulder late in the game to cough up a turnover we scored one of the winning points from - Was the semi Cuxton was lobbedish with a hail mary. No one happy about it i would think and seems unnecessary given his history with the fixture. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4541 - 21/07/2023 14:27:58 2495998 Link 3 |

He slapped the notebook out of a ref's hand. He was lucky it was only 3 months. But yea, blame Pat Spillane.

He's the best ref in the game. Why would you not want him?

Strange call alright. But it could have been worse No one questioning his ability as a ref but defo errs on the side of the Dublin opponent at times imo. Must be a Libra - trying the balance those scales - Living in Dublin on one side and decisions against them on the other... Over compensating.... ;o) He can be a bit card happy also - ask Jonny, from the last AI Final he was in charge of.... lol Anyway, he is under enough pressure so we will leave it at that. It is a tough job, and the ref's come in for a hard enough time. Not an easy job, and we need to keep any good ref's we have. Hope he has a good game, and we are not all talking about a ref decision(s) that decides the game. That is the last thing anyone wants. Hopefully an exciting attacking game and played in the right spirit. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5282 - 21/07/2023 15:21:27 2496009 Link 2 |

If you can't be a bit more accurate than that maybe you should take a break. You're right Diarmo got a 12 wk ban in 2017. You're wrong, it didn't involve the ref, it was the linesman, Ciarán Brannigan and "funny enough" the linesman didn't have a notebook so you're wrong, no notebook involved. If you're memory is that bad fact-check before making a fool of yourself again. Mixing up D.C with Paul Galvin, yes a 12 month ban for you. LOL. sligo joe (Dublin) - Posts: 1183 - 22/07/2023 09:45:33 2496079 Link 4 |

Also, pretty funny that you think that it was OK for him to do that and not be punished. Just watched it back, disgusting. Apologies again for wrong take!

Gough referee? Memory I have of him is during Cork/Kerry round robin game, awarding black card, and penalty given against Seán Powter for tackle on Geaney outside the box! Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 586 - 22/07/2023 10:21:52 2496089 Link 4 |

I never said Diarmo's actions were OK or that he should not have been punished. I just think it's hilariously funny that we have a poster on a GAA forum that doesn't know the difference between a Dub and a Kerryman, or a linesman and a referee or the championship in 2017 and the championship way back in 2008, thanks for the laughs. sligo joe (Dublin) - Posts: 1183 - 22/07/2023 10:55:25 2496097 Link 5 |

Far as I rem Galvin was only slapping away an oul wasp in case it might sting the poor ref, that's what happens when you try and do a good deed in this country!! Seriously Gough is a good ref but I think Hurson would have been a better man for the final, he's on his game this year but he was maybe a bit too fussy but still consistent in the semi final I thought, it's a tough job to get right though and they make mistakes same as the rest of us, we'll all scowl about refs but we can't have a game without them either. But it was a black card and penalty? It was the correct decision. Alot of ref's would have misinterpreted the rule.

But you are blaming Pat Spillane for him getting 3 months? As if the player done nothing wrong? Literally saying it was ok. Not surprised.
