The final that brings the top two sides together. Both survived difficult semi finals, and will be looking to crown the season with Sam Maguire. It should be an open game, Dublin have gone about their business, and could surprise Kerry on Sunday week. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1879 - 19/07/2023 17:25:37 2495703 Link 1 |

Also I just want to post my rant was not a dig at Joxer at all either. I might not agree with Joxer or Jimbo but they are good posters who wear their heart on their sleeve like Username and my sparring partner Avonali. We don't have to agree. Also as I've stated on earlier post I admire and like alot of posters who are humble like Galway 9801 and "Saynothing and Yewtree and many more. Don't be offendedif I did nt mention all the names I admire. I like the different view and sure we all can't be right. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 4243 - 19/07/2023 20:47:35 2495726 Link 0 |

I'm going with the sentiments of CiarraMick here and not continuing this dialogue with Joxer. But I can't help but emphasise that Kerry GAA did not object to any referee, much less have him removed. That's it! Aibrean (Kerry) - Posts: 366 - 19/07/2023 20:54:31 2495728 Link 1 |

Brendan Ó Sullivan and Aidan Ó Mahony. Ó Sullivan played a little for Kerry but has nt played since to my knowledge. Don't know the full story there but I do know about Aidan Ó Mahony. Aidan was / is an Asthmatic and he failed because of his inhaler. It turns out he had permission for the inhaler and he was accused on the wrong. The gaa conceded that Asthmatics need their inhalers. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

'A lie is halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on' O'Mahony was very unfairly treated for sure, he didn't get much sympathy either though because it was the same year that he dived and got Donnacha O'Connor sent off for nothing. Every appeal lodged with the GAA seems to be successful so I wouldn't read too much into that. I would have given O'Mahony the benefit of the doubt, but the second offence from the same county weakened his argument considerably IMO. We hear you. You have your opinion on that Dublin objection and Dubs have their opinion on the Kerry one. Let the games begin.

It's a forum Mick, for comment and debate. We're not hear to agree with each other all of the time, we're hear to express opinions. If a Kerry man wants to sneer about Dublin asking for a referee to be removed then he can expect to be called out for Kerry doing likewise. It's only banter and a bit of fun. Church congregations are on Sundays, HS comments are open all week.

Yeah sure you are probably right and the medals should be taken of them. Oh wait they lost those games! Also if you check your facts you might find out that no not all appeals are suceesful and there are more than a few gaa players that failed drug tests but you chose to name two. You can check google. Anyway as I say never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

https://www.sportsjoe.ie/gaa/kerrys-record-last-five-matches-david-gough-charge-205369 Well it could be deja vu again this year Joxer, as he just got the ticket again... I, like quite a few Dubs, would have wanted someone else, but it is what it is. Here is hoping he has a good game in the middle. Fingers crossed. ;o) Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5282 - 20/07/2023 15:51:15 2495842 Link 0 |

Joxer, poor Jonny only lasted 15 minutes in the last AI Final between the 2 teams, with DG in charge. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5282 - 20/07/2023 16:16:46 2495849 Link 0 |

Certainly didn't want Gough. Some Kerry folk feel he may have.bias in favour of `Dublin because of his association with Dublin clubs.. Yes, he did concede that he missed Kevin Mac's late big hit on Crowley in 2016. but I felt he was very very hard on Dublin in 2019.IT was as if he went to some lengths to prove that he was impartial. here will be sendings off and black cards aplenty. Somebody needs to have a word with John Small- one yellow and I would whip him off. Just can't afford to be a man down against this Kerry team. avonali (Dublin) - Posts: 2090 - 20/07/2023 17:38:50 2495869 Link 2 |

Given that one of the likely alternatives was the man who turned the 2021 semi final, I'd say Dublin got the best, Other than Goldrick and Hurson who are equally good. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4550 - 20/07/2023 19:15:05 2495889 Link 0 |

Two things…..I didn't mention names (you might read back to see who was the first to put the names here) and I said a handful of cases, not a few. Nothing on Google suggests to me that there are more than a handful and it still seems that the most successful county provide a disproportionate number. If you have evidence to refute that then please post it. I'd be happy to change my mind if the facts change. Never mentioned taking medals either. I'm fully aware that lads will go to every length to succeed in sport and it's up to the individual to live with their choices. The rest of us are adults too and can figure out how things look to us. On Brendan O'Sullivan, he was on a title-winning Kerry junior team that beat Meath in Portlaoise since his ban. He didn't make all the difference on the day, but Kerry GAA didn't seem to have any issue welcoming him back. Greenfield (Meath) - Posts: 527 - 20/07/2023 20:04:24 2495900 Link 3 |

David Gough, this is an outrage, I believe he was on a bus that drove through Dublin once. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4541 - 20/07/2023 23:43:07 2495911 Link 4 |

I stand corrected abut the names but you did state they were KERRY PLAYERS.As for the ratio I think you ll find only one Kerry player was suspended.that was for taking a fat burning substance a doctor told him was fine ,Anyway he was suspended for a few months.Other players nit from Kerry have been suspended for a few years due to different type drug testing failure. The other Kerry player was found innocent as he took an asthma inhaler,Lots of asthmatic players do likewise but he was the only asthmatic tested. So one Kerry player that was found guilty but for you that's high representation. There have been well known intercounty players actually caught with illegal drugs too but that's a different story (and I know that for a fact) .Anyway you have your own view.

Was that the video of the lads doing the rounds after the win last year? I won't name names but also Kerry lads?
