Kerry will be massive favourites. Rightly so. Look I suppose all we can do as underdogs is go and give it a good rattle against the traditionalists. Dubs look to be injury free and good to go Can't ask for much more Isn't it incredible theres Dub players looking to win #9 and put themselves out there as the most successful footballers of all time. Both teams know an awful lot about each other, so let's see who performs better on the day. Dubs have more weapons available to them since both teams last met, hopefully that proves to be an important factor. I think Kerry will purposely go all out to get goals.. they'll know Cluxton hasnt been beaten yet.. they'll target that early in the game, there's a psychological factor to it too. You have to go back to 1994 to find a Dublin loss! Thirty years of not losing finals is quite a run, split roughly into two 15s, that's 15 years of not making many finals, followed by 15 years winning loads, including every contested final. Dublin beat Kerry in '11 and '15 and '19. If Kerry lose this final, it'll be a whopping 4 final losses to Dublin in 13 years. Very similar paths by both sides. Both won QF against 'fancied' opposition by 12 pts. Both scored 1-17 v dogged northern sides in the SF. Neither team has expressed invincibility. Only difference was that we took our victory from Monaghan while Derry handed it to Kerry. And of course there's David Clifford. Bookies have the kingdom slight favourites. Personally, I think Kerry were too open at the back against Derry. On another day, Derry could have had 3 or 4 goals and I'm fairly certain the Dubs won't miss the same chances. Having said that, defending in hardly Dublin's strong point either. Clifford always has a field day against Dublin but when the mediocre Mick Fitzsimons is your main man marker then it's hardly a surprise. There's obviously huge motivation on both sides to win this one, and probably just as strongly not too lose it, given the opposition. I expect it to be very close, but games can take on a life of their own. Both teams have shown weaknesses this year, but they got the job done when needed. No two games are ever the same and I actually think the quarter and semi-final performances are almost irrelevant. Both know they can beat each other and both will have the belief they can do it. Its really not acceptable, time and time again when he's reffing a match the major talking points are about him. Derry lost that match more than Kerry win it but that's nothing against Kerry they done what they could. For years it's Kerry this Kerry that , put them in Ulster and God knows how many all irelands are automatically wiped from their history.
