The ref did okay. Obviously the Flanagan incident was missed by all. There should be no retrospective action to him. Especially when there was none already for kicking a player.

This is true but Flanagan and Nash should have been sent off too.

Galway looking at Munster now will not have too much to fear hopefully. Limerick not as good as they were. Tipp can be beaten too.

If you were at the match you would have seen the pulling and dragging the Limerick have forwards had to put up with for their own puckouts and the overall terrible officiating from a man out of his depth. I know we won't get a fair shake out of other fans but refs at least have to be neutral.

The Galway gang are on again mouthing, we beat 1 of them today and we'll probably beat 15 of them again later in the year.

Spot on.. the pulling and dragging off the ball was beyond belief..we won a tough, hard match where the ref was completely out of his depth...

Whilst I agree with you , no doubt Trial by Sunday game will get them done.

O come on updwell I always give ye a fair shake. If this was a final balance sheet Limerick came out on the right side of the decisions with a get out of jail card. This is just rosy eyes glasses and a useless exercise for you or me to start counting up who got away with what. Take your dissevered win and you and your buddies leave us alone. This is not a road ye have gone down in the past. I don't believe ye are slipping but hopefully crying in yere cornflakes after winning is not a sign.

Waterford fans i feel will be a bit aggrieved and short changed from their sideline leaving thurles today. Limerick had an uncharacteristically poor day at the office. One of those games where an awful lot didn't go right for them. Losing hannon, missed penalty, red card, 2 guilt edge goal chances squandered and only registering 1-18. Waterford slowee the game down, manipulated the officials brilliantly and used all the tricks they should to keep any flow or rhythm out of the match.

However, it was truly remarkable to watch a team with a spare man for 35 mins just lump ball after ball after ball on top of the Limerick square when they had the game to win by being patient and calculated. Several times I saw Davy instructing lads to launch it down. At times there were men free in the middle of the pitch.

Limerick got that out of their system, took no chances with hannon and will come to the gaelic grounds next Saturday with a huge marker to lay down imo. AIs are never handed to anyone. You gotta fight and grasp for every inch. Limerick if they didn't think that way they will now.

Bear poked.

I was at the match too. It was the worst I've seen for Off the ball fouling. The ref, 2 linesmen, 4 umpires and 4th official missed every bit of it. The worst was on Seamus Flanagan in the 2nd half. How nobody saw it beggard belief. If Warerford actually concentrated on Hurling they would have won today I'm certain. They are a fine team with loads of talent. I'm don't think Davy is the man to bring them forward. Finally wishing Tadhg De Burca a speedy recovery. Please god he recovers fully. Nobody wants to see him getting injured again

Fair enough if you feel that way but don't think that justifies a few of your players seeming determined to concuss their opponents.

Okay lets go along with the analysis put forward here that " the ref was out of his dept" Could I ask a question ? Was he out of his dept when he did not call red on Flanagan but walked to two other players and gave yellows for innocuous stuff. In fact Flanagan got nothing. What do you think the result on a one score the match might have been if ye had 13 on the field. Say a little prayer to night for the ref tonight who did Limerick no disfavours and go on to your next game. " It was the worst I've seen for Off the ball fouling " That is the greatest nonsense I have seen posted on these pages and there has been some duzzies. I tell you what, I will give you a couple of these imaginary off the balls to play 13 coming down the stretch but not the one you think on Flanagan who should not have been on the field to get fouled.
The game was not the biggest loss to Waterford but the injury to Tadgh who has gone through so much. Or not wish it on any player from any county.
Incidentally on this occasions the ref did not cause us to lose or stop ye from winning it twice if that is what you want. Move on and don't be making Limerick look bad and I will be supporting you if we cannot do any thing.

Canuck I'm not going to argue with you as I find you a very fair and balanced contributer here or criticise Waterford players or management for their tactics but the ref today lost control of that game. Hegarty and Lynch were dragged around off the ball on the Limerick puckouts and I have no problem with that but the ref and his linesmen kept looking at Quaid instead of 1 of them watching where the ball was going to land and cutting out this stuff, this leads to frustration and we see where this ends up. He started off in the first 10 minutes letting the game flow and by half time he brought Waterford back into it with soft frees, anyway best of luck to ye for the rest of the round robin, if ye put in performances like that from now on ye should qualify out of Munster. Also best of luck to de Burca, I think everyone in Semple stood up to applaud him off.

Limerick being blown on high tackles now which allows teams to stay with them in games. Waterford could have won but didnt deserve to after hitting so many wides. Flagagans positional sense best in Ireland.

The ref, a Galway man! Don't mind him. I'd have some sympathy for losers who'd be sore but sore winners, that's pathetic. The amount of abuse and bullying that was done to that ref was disgraceful, it wouldn't be accepted in any other other sport.

I'm not getting involved in any stuff with posters who start slagging one another off..we didn't play well and possibly only 3 or 4 players were up to normal standards..today showed that on a given day any team can beat another..I expect Flanagan to miss next Saturday as he was very fortunate not to receive a red..gearoid was silly but again the first yellow was problem.the official from Waterford should never again be involved with any team as no one outside of field of play should interfere with players or officials.rest of championship is nicely shaping up..if clare and Waterford lose next week they'll find it very hard to recover and qualify.a lot of twists and turns to come..
