it's still all to play for no slip ups from now on With Tipp & Cork on 3 points they hold the ascendancy now I would have preferred to see Tipp win last Saturday with ourselves & Limerick looking for 2nd or 3rd Spot. If Cork lose both their away games and ye beat Waterford, it does not matter what happens in Thurles on the 21st, Cork and Waterford are gone. Of course their are other permutations and you never know with any great certainty how any Munster game might go. It would not greatly surprise me either if Waterford won their last two games, so it is still all to play for. And as of now, any two of the five teams could still be eliminated.

This is a great point. After the sending off in the Limerick v Waterford game, three Waterford players were over asking him or suggesting to him what should happen next. As many have pointed out here Waterford didn't use the extra man well. I think a lot of the 'tactical guru' talk arose from 2013. Clare played two sweepers against us which was most likey Davy's idea. But Kinnerk was coaching them and on the day the way they played was excellent, neutralising Limerick and getting their own scores. That said, our free taker had an off day. Then in the two finals against Cork, Clare changed their tactics before the second game, going from 0 goals to 5 goals. Yes, i was hoping for a Tipp win also, a draw puts both in a strong position but its fantastic entertainment with the possibility at the moment of anyone going out. The Cork Tipp match was a fantastic watch, Tipp should have come away with the win. Alan Tynan looks the complete midfielder, strong in the tackle, can run all day, carries the ball and takes scores, what an addition he is. WOD will need to try and keep him from dominating even if it means running himself into the ground and coming off after 45 - 50 mins. Limerick just need to put full focus on Tipp and its a must not lose game for them, its not the complete be all and end all for Tipp as they have the extra point on the board but they may see it as a chance to try and put Limerick out of Munster early. It could be another epic match. I still think the potential of playing Hayes at center forward is a great option and to potentially have someone with genuine pace running straight down the middle could cause Tipp problems. On the flip side, Dan Morrisey has been very consistent either at full or center back so you may not want to risk moving him to half back, Coughlan might be the man to come in. Tipp looked vunerable when Cork half forward line ran at them so I think there is a strong possibility that JK will put Kyle Hayes back at centre forward, Sean Finn's injury limits his options so I think Coughlan would come in that scenario to avoid 2 changes in the full back line. Mike Casey will come in at corner back with Dan staying full back in my opinion. If Cian is 100% fit there may be a possibility of him going to mid field but most likely would start on the bench. I still think it's wide open but remember if Clare win Saturday evening its probably curtains for Waterford. A Waterford win brings everyone back into elimination territory. I think Limerick will beat Tipp I just can't see Limerick having to rely on beating Cork in their last game. I still think Limerick are building up nicely and will go helter-skelter in the last two games. Out of the 5 teams they are probably best placed to deal with any injuries Cork next and if Tipp Clare and Waterford lost key players I don't think they would be as strong. It has definitely gone to the other extreme and it's taking its toll on players - serious injuries and burn out not to mention lack of protection from the GAA and its officials.

Not using it as an excuse but no team and certainly not Waterford could afford to be without Daly, DeBurca, Gleeson, (not fit) McNulty, Kenny and now Kiely. Which makes you wonder about player welfare with Kiely. Bandaged up to continue but now out for weeks and the same with Daly last year. Injured left on and then more seriously injured. Is it medical staff making or not making these calls ? Someone should answer for it.

I asked someone who had played both hurling and rugby a few years ago which did he prefer and he also said rugby. "You're tackled when you have the ball in rugby and that's it but in hurling there are fellas pulling and dragging at you throughout the game, pushing and shoving, there isn't a moment's peace" he said. He made all the right calls in that 2nd half last year. Especially dropping back the halfbacks in front of the fullback line.

Thats an interesting point Baire. I was a decent enough old prop. You would get tackled hard and hurt but not the niggling away from the play. I would also agree you could get serious hurt but the GAA injuries are now off the charts. Also there is zero attempt to control the nasty stuff away from play. The commentators also seem to have an agenda that is influencing officials no matter what anyone says.
