Absolutely nothing between these two teams now. It's said that often you learn more from defeat than from victory. Waterford should learn more. However, I think that while Limk won, Kiely won't really see it as a victory. He's got a lot to work on, and learn from. Either way, looking forward to the next duel between these two great counties! foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2202 - 24/04/2022 18:03:19 2412809 Link 0 |
If Kilkenny beat Dublin and Galway they will go into the last game vs Wexford on 8 points and guaranteed a spot in the Leinster final. With nothing to be gained from a win could Cody play a second string side against Wexford - and keep players fit for the final. This could work to our advantage. I would expect us to be on 5 going into that game. Galway on 5 if they lose to Kilkenny and Dublin 6 if they lose to Kilkenny. Wexford and Galway wins they will both have 7 points and score difference will determine who gets to final A Dublin win will see a Kk Dublin final and score difference will determine whether Galway or Wexford get 3rd. Cork is banana skin for Waterford now as they are practically out and will play loose with pride at stake. Should Daly have been taken off before he injured the ankle a second time ? A great hurler and judge said the difference between Limerick and us is they release the ball quicker. Hopefully we have learned. Daly had all the time in the world to play that ball before he turned himself into a pretzel and injured himself. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3034 - 03/05/2022 12:25:51 2414554 Link 0 |
I dont think theres much of a chance of Cork beating Waterford but to say theyre practically out is premature. If they beat Waterford and Tipp then theres a decent chance they go through. Thats a massive if but its possible. There are still plenty of premutations.

Agree nobody is out till they are out. But I fear for Corks backs. If Waterford are on song they will score a hatful of goals.

Is there any update on how serious that injury is?

Thats for sure, The last thing they want is likes of Dessie and Stephen Bennett running at them. Bennett like Mark Kehoe has goal on his mind first and foremost.

Yellow id say you posted this in the wrong thread. If what you say happened and Kk were already qualified for a leinster final... history tells me that Cody would still go all out to beat us. Every opportunity Cody and KK have had to stand on our necks they have taken. I fancy us to go very close in KK, they'll be a puck of a ball between us at the finish - id love it if we were on the right side of it.

A must win game. Cork will come throwing the kitchen sink. No fear in the camp I would say but this will show if we are contenders or pretenders. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3034 - 10/05/2022 13:30:23 2416239 Link 0 |
That's a shame.

Pretenders I guess. If that is our best then we do not belong in this championship. Beaten by a better team who were more motivated. Persisting Stephen Bennett driving simple frees wide would make you wonder. At one stage Gleeson ask the ref for protection from the tactics on him. If his yellows today can get you sent off it is time to stick with ludo to avoid any contact. I guess it just become fashionable to send Austin Gleeson off. Don't think Ozzie getting sent off affected the result Canuck. I'm beginning to think you peaked too early. Didn't get the timing right.

Viking66 Gleeson sending off did not effect the result as Cork were far the better team on the day. The treatment been dished out to him is just wrong. The ref has the responsibility to protect players and in this case asked for it. There were three frees called for fouls on him. Should all this not and what was going on off the ball seen by the rest of the officials not tell the ref something. We see on other threads where it is up to the player to take it for the team. So would it stop if he did ? I don't think so. More would be dished out. Michael the arc angel would not put up with it. Common sense Gleeson is out there to put the ball in the net or over the bar and we see how he can do this. So can his opponents and the way to stop him is get him off the field. This is a tactic from the other dressing room and disgusting. Planned to make sure different players foul him. Austin is a bit of a loose cannon himself but deserves better as all the best players in the game do.
