Interesting listening to the Dublin players and management saying how much this meant and how sweet it was.

Massive celebrations and such emotion at the final whistle. Such hunger for it today.

So many similarities to the men's victory a couple of weeks ago.

Also, 14 players winning their 1st All Ireland today - some stat.
We have lost 9 All Star players since 2020.

Mick said this was his greatest achievement - and this was his 5th victory in 7 years

Replying To updwell:  "Well done to Dublin today, great pace and athleticism all over the field. Ladies football is a great game to watch and the game is much better to watch than Ladies soccer or rugby which can be error strewn and generally a poor standard."
And hard luck to Limerick today. You are so right its a game that really suits athletic females lovely game to watch.

What 3 Dublin players got cards?

Ref was shocking certainly did them no favours couldn't understand how Kerry no. 15 didn't get a card for her challenge"
Yes referee was shocking. But as a neutral he clearly favoured Dublin. Was 7 clear sin bins but none given.

Just a few words on Hannah Tyrrell
Hannah is an ex Ireland women's rugby union international. She represented Ireland at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was also a member of the Ireland team that won the 2015 Women's Six Nations Championship and Triple Crown. Hannah is also an Ireland women's rugby sevens international. She has also played soccer at a senior level. As a women's association football player, Hannah played for St Catherine's in two FAI Women's Cup finals and played for Shamrock Rovers in the Women's National League.
But according to herself, to win an All Ireland is her biggest achievement.
Wow.
Super photos of her with her 7 week old daughter on the pitch after the match today.

You would think that a Leitrim person would be happy for one of their own from Ballinamore, winning an All Ireland yesterday.

Are you just being bitter here or what.?????

3 posts in a row about the ref - ah here.... go out and get some air will you... teppum..!

Contact is allowed, shoulder to shoulder. With tackling it is on the ball only, but it is poorly defined as per the mens game. Barging is not allowed you cannot run through a player as per the mens game. I thought the best team won, I assume you are not seriously that the better team lost!

Shoulder is gray area. Ryan who was co-commnetating and was to say the least slightly biased claimed that shoulders are illegal.

I thought he reffed well. The hand thing is ambiguous. If you look at it, Caffrey for example had her hand over Ó Muircheartaigh's arm rather than holding on as you see often in men, or dragging it under her own. Sometimes it was pulled, sometimes not.

Curley was strict on charging and Kerry forwards paid price for that as they became frustrated and were trying to burrow towards goal.

It is great game to watch. By any stretch the women's footballers at senior and even lower grades as individuals are the elite of any womens teams here.

Yes agreed Dublin the best team on the day. Regarding the rules Contact is NOT allowed nor is shoulder to shoulder. You will need to read the ladies rule book as should the referee. As you stated barging is not allowed but carla Rowe ( dublin ) was aloud to nearly every time she was on the ball but emma Costello ( kerry ) was pulled any time she done it and rightly so.

Must have watched a different game, any time I saw Carla on the ball, including her three points from play, she was racing away from the Kerry girls, hard to barge into players behind you, lol.
Kerry brought the ball into contact much more than Dublin and in many cases were rewarded with "iffy" frees.
The final score flattered Kerry, watching the game it looked like a senior team against juniors.

Here is a stat for my fellow Dubs, and wannabe Dubs who reside on here...... ;o)

The last Dublin All Ireland winning captain from the southside in men's or ladies senior football championship was back in 1974 - Sean Doherty.

Since then in men's only 6 clubs have provided the successful captain, and 3 in the ladies winning teams.
Only 1 club has provided both afaik - Ballymun Kickham's.

As far as I know Sean Doherty was very southside alright. He was a Wicklow man who played with Ballyboden.

Seán Doherty was actually born in Wicklow but he played football with his local club Ballyboden Wanderers, Ballyboden St Enda's and later with St Anne's in Dublin.
He captained the 1968 Dublin Junior Football championship winning team. The following season Ballyboden Wanderers joined up with Rathfarnham St Enda's to become Ballyboden St Enda's. He went on to play in the county intermediate championship in the 1970s. In 1971 he won his 1st Intermediate championship. He captained Dublin to the All-Ireland title in 1974. He later served as joint-manager of the Dubs with Gerry McCaul and Tony Hempenstall in 1989.

I think it would be a toss-up between Sean Doherty and Gay O' Driscoll for the pointy elbow award. Micky Ned O Sullivan (Kerry) can be the judge.

Same as the two Timmons who kicked with Saggart in 50s and 60s. Border land.

Yes indeed. He was born in Gleaneally Co Wicklow and moved to Dublin in his early 20s.He was a big strong man who looked awkward but was a fine full back. He was a rough diamond on the pitch. Ironically his son went the other direction. His son was a Dublin panelist at one stage but switched clubs and went to play his club football in Wicklow.
