Kilkenny may be underdogs, but why would they have a "chip on its shoulder". Do you actually know what the phrase means?

I never said they were being written off. I said they are underdogs and that is a dangerous title to give any Kilkenny team. I think it will be close but for the reasons i said before i think its set up for a KK ambush. LarryOBrother (Wexford) - Posts: 412 - 26/07/2019 16:03:26 2216823 Link 0 |
I do ya? Do you? I'm basing that statement on the assumption they don't like hearing all week that they are going to beaten?

Jakesht!! Not one pundit giving the Cats the nod tomorrow, Im very worried about tomorrow and I seem to be one of the few rather than one of the many. Confidence is very high among Some Limerick supporters and this makes me nervous. Telemachus (Limerick) - Posts: 12 - 26/07/2019 17:33:41 2216851 Link 1 |

I think Limerick should shade it personally. A far more settled team than we are at the minute, particularly in defence. For us to win I think our half forward line need to be on top form not just from a scoring point of view but they also disrupt the supply of ball to that full forward line. If that full forward line gets regular quality ball we'll be in bother. We could also do with Colin Fennelly producing one of those performances that he always threatens but seldom deliver. Although he's had a decent year until now we need him at his best tomorrow. Should be a cracker of a game whatever happens LovelyHurling94 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 6 - 26/07/2019 19:04:46 2216885 Link 0 |
Limerick are All-Ireland League and Munster Champions. At this stage I much prefer having Kiely and Co. rather than Cody directing our fortune on the sideline. , win, lose, or draw!. Proven winners! Have faith! In Kiely we trust! Come On Ye Boys In Gren! PatOLogical (Limerick) - Posts: 1377 - 26/07/2019 19:06:09 2216886 Link 0 |
Hopeful and confident of a Limerick win. That said I would never write off a Kilkenny team that in Jackie T's book says Brian Cody is not happy to beat opponents, he wants to "crush them" . Hoping for a great game with no red cards , whether justified or by ref 's bad call. PatOLogical (Limerick) - Posts: 1377 - 26/07/2019 19:28:11 2216893 Link 1 |
Delighted big Walter Wally Walsh is on the starting 15, they won't be able to cope with him! Looks like Cody is going old school..route one drag them into a physical dogfight, and as I said in a earlier post lots of timber and let them have it ..... absolutely ambush on the cards. KK to win. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2550 - 26/07/2019 21:06:26 2216923 Link 0 |
Limerick made Johnny Glynn and co look like very small men last year

Maybe it is that attitude to 'timber' hurling that has lost Galway twenty out of twenty five All Ireland Hurling Finals. If Kilkenny win on Sunday they will do it as always with class hurling. It is an approach to the game that has served them well. May the best team win. I feel it will be Limerick, but only just. Wexford get a hesitant vote to win on Sunday.

My mood is lifting katser has made his prediction and as usual it isn't limerick thank god someday (Limerick) - Posts: 1104 - 26/07/2019 23:13:54 2216962 Link 0 |
WHat will the crowd numbers be like I wonder.. Will limerick travel in huge numbers or are they waiting for the final.. Kilkenny don't seem to travel in big numbers.. Maybe 30k max from limerick 15 from kk.. Leaving total about 50 k... The 2014 semi I can't seem to recall but it wasn't a big crowd I think which was surprising seeing as limerick were involved preddan (Kildare) - Posts: 796 - 27/07/2019 01:16:32 2216983 Link 0 |

I know out of blind loyalty I tipped Kilkenny to win this by a tight margin in the prediction forum, but the fundamental fact remains is that this is the worst Kilkenny backline of the Cody era. For all the Shefflins, Larkins, Brennans, Powers etc., the bedrock of Kilkenny's success under Cody has been a rock solid defence. We no longer have that. Even Cork, as dysfunctional as they were for huge tracts of the semi final, scored 3-18 and could have scored a couple more goals aswell. And Limerick are far better than Cork. ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1256 - 27/07/2019 07:21:41 2216998 Link 0 |
