The cats were very impressive against Cork at the weekend. skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1124 - 16/07/2019 12:55:24 2211831 Link 2 |

it will be a huge battle because kilkenny will have their tails up after demolishing cork.....plus they have huge momentum aswell now. but i'd still fancy limerick only just after the way they disposed of tipp in the munster final and if we can get gearoid hegarty and kyle hayes running at the heart of the kilkenny defence they will cause big problems. at the other end tho i'm hoping our backs can tie down the kilkenny forwards. tough battle instore. munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1171 - 16/07/2019 13:39:14 2211855 Link 1 |

I wouldn't say that Kilkenny have huge momentum now, they have put in one decent performance which while giving Kilkenny supporters more hope than was there previously, would need to be backed up by at least another one good performance to indicate that some consistency has been found Heftydickonem (Kilkenny) - Posts: 175 - 16/07/2019 13:51:10 2211866 Link 1 |

I was in Croke Park last Sunday and I felt the Kilkenny Full back line was all over the place in the first half half and Cork could have scored two or three goals. However they failed to take the right options on a few occasions and that is fatal against Kilkenny and of course Kilkenny tightened up no end in the second half. All through I felt the entire Cork Half Forward contributed little or nothing and Darragh Fitzgibbon was completely out of the game at midfield. Yet Cork were still only three points behind Kilkenny with about five minutes to go. I think our middle third, if they play to form could not be as poor as that area of the Cork team was and their subs were also below par, when they were called in and I could not see our bench, if called upon, being that poor. Overall, I fell, if we are not too affected by the four weeks lay off, we should just about pull through, in what should be a battle royal. I think that overall Limerick are the better team, the Limerick forwards will cause too many problems for the KK backs and the Lk backs wont give KK the room they got last Sunday, but in saying that I hope we give a good account of ourselves and maybe it might be closer than we expect mooncat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 545 - 16/07/2019 15:21:44 2211912 Link 0 |

Kilkenny (and Wexford) will both benefit from coming through such a tight and tense Leinster championship and will be well primed for knockout hurling in a way more usually associated with Munster. Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 16/07/2019 15:48:52 2211925 Link 0 |

On paper, and nothing is won on paper, Limerick are the better side. However they have had a few downs aswell as ups in the championship. BliainanÁir (Laois) - Posts: 598 - 16/07/2019 16:40:01 2211954 Link 1 |

I never shouted for a KK team in my life but there will be tears of joy and happiness in my face when they win the Semi Final!! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2943 - 16/07/2019 16:42:17 2211955 Link 1 |

I thought you would have shed tears enough after Dublin, a team that could beat Laois, handed you your teams butt on a plate in Parnell Park.

Ignore. She's a narcissistic troll. Seriously, Kathy has a need to be noticed. This thread is about Lmk v kilkenny, if we start responding to her nonsense it'll go down the tubes fairly quickly. skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1124 - 16/07/2019 18:58:30 2212008 Link 0 |

you'd have to feel sry for her.....last year limk beating galway in the final is something that she'll never get over . its eleven months ago now and it seems to me that it's worse she is getting.

I know it was shambolic and a dreadful way to go out of the Championship...karma is a terrible thing. Ye will get the same dose v KK!

You win nothing with no full back line and for that reason this is already a forgone conclusion. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 16/07/2019 20:38:07 2212056 Link 0 |

Horgan will destroy a lot of full backs. Tipp have their worries too. James Barry looks a little overweight, or maybe just sluggish. Granted Limerick's full back line is stronger. It's all on the day. BliainanÁir (Laois) - Posts: 598 - 16/07/2019 20:58:05 2212069 Link 0 |

Meanwhile your crowd persist with Barry at full back, the mind boggles.

A decent performance from Kilkenny against Cork but the fact remains, that Kilkenny defensive unit is the weakest in the Cody era. We've had big slow lads before (Cody seems to favour that template for defenders) but they were always skillful enough and cute enough (and let's face it, ruthless enough) not to get exposed against pacy attackers. The current crop of defenders don't seem to have that nous in their armoury. ballydalane (Kilkenny) - Posts: 1258 - 16/07/2019 21:24:43 2212084 Link 0 |

They do have the best shot stopper in the game behind them to bail them out though. He was crucial against Cork and if KK had beaten Limk last year he would have been man of the match had a great shot at an all star last year Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 16/07/2019 21:46:13 2212103 Link 1 |

i agree john kiely is certain to use that as motivation......little did jackie tyrell think when he was saying limerick won't retain the all ireland that it would be limk and the cats going toe to toe in the semi final.
