lads it's a sad day when no Kerry player is interested in the sport... just proves what players actually make of the whole thing, the GAA would be better suited to investing the money in the Railway Cups

Respect for the Kerry lads I say, they can see through the charade and are better to sit it out than risk injury for a nothing 'sport'. Agree about the Railway cup too.

Exactly. They had the chance to market and promote the Railway Cup earlier this year as there was no International Rules in 2012 & and a diabolic crowd showed up for the final in Croke Park between Ulster and Leinster.

International Rules has far greater appeal, anything who thinks other wise is living in the clouds.

this competition is a an unmitigated farce and should be disbanded, leave October to club games and have nov /dec a closed season.

I actually enjoy the games. I think it is a great opportunity for amatuer athletes to represent themselves and get recognised for their talents. A lot of players who play this game are unlikely to feature come all star time due to the fact they are from a weaker county.

I like the games too and a great chance for GAA players to represent their country, hope Johnny gets on and does well the man is a legend!! he's still Kildare's best player and glad he got to represent Ireland and hope he gives it one more bash with kildare..

Why are they selecting players still in the club championships? Plenty of good footballers available, no need for Croke Park to be compromising the club system any more than they are already.

first game would hardly be a sell out? Would be very dissapointed if Murphy picks it over his club.

The only room in the fixture list would be Saturday evenings in March/April on weekends where there are NHL fixtures.

Murphy's club are small in geographical and historical terms. they would have been playing junior football just over 10 years ago. They have been blessed with a golden generation of footballers and should strike while the iron is out. I cannot for one minute see Murphy passing up the chance of a second county title in favour of the International Rules, even if he is captain.

Why was Michael Murphy made captain if he can't play in one of the games?!

Ridiculous choice of captain as they surely knew this would be a possibility.

This is farcial now.

The Irish captain might not, well should not, play now as his club are in the county final. Why then was he picked?

It took a long time for Donegal Gaa people to come
to terms with getting so badly spanked by Mayo!

It's an exhibition/hybrid game, nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't place any importance on it. Players should not miss county league games for it, let alone a county final. Donegal were 100% right not to move their blue riband event because of it.
