Replying To WexMurph:  "Was he ever involved with the senior footballers?Knows the club scene inside out. Think he was involved with Waterford when they beat us in the championship a couple of years ago."
Don't think he was, I agree he could be a great addition to the county team set up, as fair as I know he lives in Waterford as he's the vice principal of Waterpark school, originally from Monaghan.

Standard similar to the hurling really
Hurling just a faster game so more entertainment.
Standard compared to other counties in both sports is average from what I've seen.
Been to a couple of club games in Kilkenny and hurling is like a different game up there.
Too many football teams too worried about not losing instead of going out to win the games.

I don't know the ins and outs of the club cos I don't live there anymore but I do know Cushinstown had a wedding last Thursday. Now he's not part of the panel he's a junior player but a lot of the players would have went to it so if cushinstown were the problem that is the reason I would say

If you're talking in relation to the Fintan's v Ballyhogue thing (since Ballyhogue are playing Cushinstown today), then no, it's not Cushinstown who were the 'difficult' ones.

Fintan's are playing Bannow-Ballymitty today and I don't mind saying it wasn't Bannow-Ballymitty being difficult either.

That should narrow it down enough for you :)

st marys beating gorey was a suprise [to me] had seen gorey twice thought they would win it out, of course they still might, but they got a good beating today, maybe they rested a few

Gorey had been impressive so far. I wonder the closer it gets to the Leinster hurling will it impact the effort put into the football

See Horeswood beaten again in intermediate. Adamstown seem to be coming back a bit and are top of their group now. Good win for St Mary's Maud hard to see Gorey challenging only scoring 1-2 today maybe they were missing players I don't know. St Martins winning but not scoring big but hard to see past them if they get things right

Gorey lost 2 group games in the hurling aswel so after qualifying last week wouldn't read too much into it yet, Martins living up to the favourites tag so far. Clongeen/ Ferns essentially a relegation semi final next week while Bannow need to produce something against Horeswood in the other group to avoid the dreaded relegation game.

Gorey looked alot better than Martins in the games I've seen this year, much more cohesive in their teamwork and playing with more intensity , but with 4 teams going through from 6 team groups there has no doubt been an element of shadow boxing going on, same as in the hurling.

Interesting finish though in some of the groups.

Group B in senior for example, relegation semi final between St James and Fethard whilst Starlights and Gusserane face off to decide 3rd place, shoot out for top spot between Shels and Kilanerin, will either team rest a few or go hell for leather to top the group?

Group A in senior is even more interesting, Glynn play the Sars, Glynn are guaranteed 2nd and cant catch Castletown or be caught by Bunclody so what will they do? Crossabeg could still take 3rd in the group by virtue of the head to head, likewise Crossabeg could find themselves bottom of that group at the end of the day.

Group A in intermediate is done in terms of what teams are in the quarter finals, the big game there will definitely be Ferns and Clongeen in a relegation semi final, The Marys could finish as high as 2nd or as low as 4th, also a good chance of 3 teams finishing on 6 points in that group, lets hope the controversies in other counties dont raise their heads here in terms of head to heads etc etc.

And Group B is even more interesting. The winners of Ballyhogue and Adamstown will top the group, remarkably though if Fintans pull of another win against Cushinstown then they go ahead of them on the head to head, meanwhile if Bannow could pull off an unlikely win against Horeswood and Fintans lose they would be in relegation!

Defintely going to be an interesting final day.

After Bannow getting a decent enough result against Cushintown they have really struggled in the last two games. Only scoring 1-2 and 3 points, they've manage to just about stay up for afew years now but it looks like this could be the year they go down. I've seen every team in intermediate this year and they look to be the weakest.

Having to play two games in 48 hours didn't work out too bad for either the Fintans or Ballyhogue. Ballyhogue are in with a chance to top the group and the fintans look to safe unless bannow beat Horeswood which is unlikely. Jim Rossitor came back from Australia(I think) last week so I'm sure that might have something to do with them pushing to play the game Friday night

Had heard all right that the reason Fintan's were 'reluctant' to play last Wednesday was because they were expecting to have somebody back if the game was fixed for a later date. Didn't realise it was Rossiter.

Meanwhile, have been keeping an eye on this since the state of Enniscorthy football was first mentioned here a few weeks ago:
- Starlights seniors could go out of championship if they lose to Gusserane on Sunday, and St. James's beat Fethard
- Their Juniors suffered another big defeat at the weekend, are already out of the championship, and have what's basically a relegation semi-final coming up next weekend.
- Shamrocks again gave a walkover in Junior 'A', which means they're thrown out of the championship as that's the second walkover conceded. St Joseph's automatically get the points for what should have been their match next Sunday, and Shamrocks go straight to relegation final.

As it happens, the points are not much use to St. Joseph's anyway, since they're going to finish in fifth no matter what happens elsewhere in the group.

How Senior is shaping up for the final round from what I can see.

Kilanerin v Shels- Shadow boxing exercise, expect both to beat in the QF whoever finishes 3rd and 4th in the other group (2 from Bunclody, Sarsfields, Annes, Crosssabeg)

Gusserane v Starlights- Gusserane are as good as through, need a 34 point swing for them not to qualify (i.e they lose this by about 17 points and Fethard beat Jimmies by a similar amount.) I think they'll go all out for the win as a win or draw means a QF with Glynn and defeat there playing Castletown, no disrespect to the men in Killurin their going well under Joe Hagan but Castletown would certainly look the tougher task. Starlights ensured escape from relegation with the draw yesterday but Darragh Lyons brilliant last gasp equaliser means they need a win or draw to guarantee a QF spot, a win their playing Glynn in QF, draw its Castletown, a loss their hoping for a Fethard win or draw in that game or scoring difference working out in their favour if the Jimmies win.

Fethard v Jimmies- Fethard can't make the QF and must win to avoid the relegation play off, Jimmies must win or draw to avoid relegation play off, if they win and Gusserane win they'll be hoping scoring difference (there 5 behind the Starlights at the moment) works in there favour.

Castletown v Bunclody- Castletown already secure for 1st spot in the group, Bunclody are safe from relegation but need a win or draw to confirm a QF spot.

Glynn v Sarsfields- Glynn confirmed for 2nd spot, Sars need a win to confirm safety and that might get them a QF spot depending on the other games.

Crossabeg v Annes- Winner secure from relegation, draw good enough for Crossabeg on that, Crossabeg lose their defiantly in relegation as Sars have them on head to head, Annes lose their hoping for a favour from Glynn, winner could make the QF and Crossabeg might even with a draw if Glynn win.

With the way the 2 Intermediate groups have gone I don't think there's any advantage to finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in either of them. The decision by a good lot of the Adamstown players to keep up on the Football during the Hurling definitely has paid off so far, but will it still be an advantage by the time the QFs come around and everyone else except Gorey has been only playing football for the previous 6 or 7 weeks also?

Do Shamrocks go straight to the relegation final or are they automatically relegated?

Didn't realise that Rossiter was away, no wonder Fintans were struggling this year, himself, Shane Pettit and Donal Shanley all abroad would be a huge loss to a Senior team let alone Intermediate.

Dont' think I would agree there. Huge difference between playing the Martins and the other teams in that group.
