A bad logo can destroy a jersey and that's why I found the sportsavers 1 horrendous, seen that recently with Westmeath where a yellow Renault logo in the middle of the maroon was awful, now with the Renault logo bedded in with the maroon its fine.

Seen Conlon and Kelly are back in contention for Clare for Sunday, I'm actually happy about that the bigger the test on Sunday is better for the lads new enough or trying a push on a level.

According to the Indo Oisin Foley is training. Would be good to see him get the last 3 games for sure.

02 was actually a lovely Jersey.

The gaelic gear one was the faded one in 03, then sort of a rehash of the same one for the 05 semi final and into 05 which was a bit nicer.

The sportsaver one has to be the worst. Whoever agreed to the logo in colour....

Reading the Wexford People it sounds like we may just be missing Richie Lawlor , Liam Ryan and Kevin Foley. Egan is hopeful Rory O Connor and Lee Chin can play some part

With conlon and Kelly likely to play on Sunday we simply must be at our best.
From what I'm hearing , Rory, Chin and O Hanlon will play some part against the banner but I wonder is that wise. It would be good to win this game but maybe it could be costly with the championship just around the corner. Are the 3 lads fully fit? Might they crock themselves up?
Would it not be better to save them until the Cork or Limerick game? We as a county can't afford to have the above named unavailable for the round Robin.
I think however that Egan will be tempted to give them a run out. perhaps not for the full game but he would like to get a win in front of the home crowd. I hope his decision works out okay and we can play from a full deck when we get to the business end of the season.

Ultimately we're only speculating how fit or not the players mentioned are, only those within the management and squad circle know the full picture, you want the players getting some minutes prior to championship rather than going completely cold, I'd disagree on the 1st sentence as its the league we've no idea if Clare will be on it on Sunday or rubbish like they were against Limerick, I'm not overly concerned result wise once we perform to a reasonable level, would like a selection something like 2 established players and 1 more on the edge of the panel in most lines, e.g in full back line would like Niall Murphy to get a run at corner back with 2 established lads beside him, hope Lawlor gets a run in goal too as he hasn't played for us since the Kilkenny game although he was playing Fitzgibbon 2 weeks ago.

How likely are Conlon and Kelly to play? They were named on the bench in advance of their last game but were replaced on the day of it.

I dont think we can wrap Chin and Rory O Connor in cotton wool and hope they can be brilliant in the championship - they have a serious lack of hurling over the past year. Has Rory played any match since the Clare match last Summer?

You may as well say Rory didn't play against Clare. He went down under a hard challenge against Kerry. The knee is weak. The more minutes he plays full tilt the more damage is done to it. Last year he was brilliant when he came back after injury. But as the season went by he seemed a little less effective towards the end of it. Chin looked effective whenever he was on the pitch also. Other players definitely seem to take games to get up to speed in a season though. Jippo and Kevin Foley for example.

Im thinking the same . They need to build up match fitness and sharpness before championship and cant just turn on a switch. Im looking forward to both of them and Matt returning on Sunday

Its nearly 2 months to go til Salthill. Whether the 3 lads play this weekend or not will not affect their match fitness or sharpness in 2 months time. Unless they pick up a serious injury.
And if all 3 play then 3 of the younger or newer lads won't, which will not help them be better players come the championship if called upon to start or come on as a sub. Giving Foley, Carty, Hearne, Mcguckin and Higgins games against Westmeath is all very well, but they will learn alot more by playing the next 3 games. And management will learn more about them too.

I'm not saying start the 3 lads in all the games at all .

Team named. He's given the newer lads a chance to improve and stake a claim. Hopefully they can pull off a win against a very strong Clare team.

Looking at both team sheets, clare have close to their strongest team, we on the other hand are missing a lot. I be worried that we could get a good beating, maybe it is short term pain for long term gain. If both teams start as picked and we get to within two or three points of them, i actually be happy enough. Good luck to the lads tomorrow and hopefully we put in a good performance.

That's not the team I was expecting. Still no chin, jipp, Rory, o Foley or matt.

Lawlor
Reck
Donoghue
Clarke
Carty
D Reck
Flood
Mogie
Dunbar
Hearne
Jacko
Charlie
Banville
Mac
Higgins

Best of luck to them. Will be a tough test but if we tidy up the shooting we'll be there or thereabouts

Huge opportunity for a lot of the young lads tomorrow . Clare look to be coming to Wexford Park with a really strong squad particularly their forward 6 . I just hope our young lads can compete with them it will be very difficult when you list the players we are missing

No sign of Chin or Rory on the team sheet or in the subs. It's obvious Egan believes they need more time to recover from their injuries.
It probably makes sense as to play them now would be a big gamble and could make their condition worse. We need them badly for later on because without them I feel that our chances of progress would be very slim indeed.
Simon Donoghoe at full back? Seems an odd choice but I'm sure he will give it his all.
Fanning must be injured or unavailable for other reasons. It gives Lawlor another opportunity to prove himself. Dee on the bench, which is not surprising as he isn't his usual self recently.
Good to see Jacko back. He will add a bit of muscle up front.
More gametime for Clark and Hearne. This will most certainly be a big test for them and hopefully they can handle the pace of the game.
I think it will be close but I feel if Conlon and Kelly play we might come up short but you never know.
Verdict- Clare to win by 4 points.this

Is it true that Liam Ryan has retired? A big loss if true.
