Money would be better spent on a 4G pitch than roofing open side in Wexford Park for 5 games a year.

I agree with you on that however I think it is planned for the COE in the next stage of development

5 games for you maybe but I've been there 13 or 14 times this year already.

Another problem with 4g pitches for hurling is the sliotar doesn't seem to bounce up at all.

According to Brendan Furlong in the examiner Paudie Foley going back to Syndey which was well flagged but Ian Carty going travelling to Dubai next year too.

It's disappointing from a club and county point of view as a fan, but in fairness I couldn't say to him he shouldn't go when he told me, being as I got the chance to live in loads of places around the world myself when I was younger.

Big blow to lose the two of them from the half back line albeit Paudie wasnt available this year

Mogie I going.

Hadn't heard about carthy. That's a real shame.

He was well positioned to make a break through and is the find of the year for 23 in my opinion.

Still though, with Clarke, c Foley, possibly Byrne and Molloy involved and flood back we should have options.

Mcguckin has to be an option at wingback. Was excellent for Gorey there this year. Gavin Bailey too. Not sure if it's Conor Foleys best position tbh. Think maybe midfield or even wing forward would suit him better. He gave away a good few points and goals by overcommitting. Flood is a forward and is probably too light still for intercounty. Was easily pushed off the ball last year. Molloy would be good if he would fully commit and put in the S and C work.

Think we are light in this area . Agree McGuckin has to get a big run at wing back next year. I now expect Damien Reck to continue at centre back. Hopefully Hanlon gives it another year we need his size and physicality in the half back line. Cian Molloy , Bailey, Joe O Connor and Jack Cullen providing competition. I also think Michael Dundon could have something to offer in the half back line he has the size . I agree Flood and Foley are better in midfield or forwards

I heard Foley is back in January..? Not sure if that's true now but hopefully it is…he'd be a massive addition to the half back line

So the backroom team is announced as Frank Flannery, David Franks , Damien Fitzhenry and Eanna Martin. Would imagine Flannery will be the main coach and Fitzy goalkeeping coach. Franks and Martin as selectors. 2 more members of the backroom team to be announced later . It is vital we get in a sports phycologist also. Looking forward to January already and hope we arent down too many lads with P Foley, Carty & possibly Liam Og unavailable

Good to be back again.
I think the backroom team that Keith has picked is impressive. Flannery, Franks, Fitzy and Martin is probably the best we could have hoped for.
Two more positions to be filled. Presumably one of those positions would be a psychologist.
Rossi knows his coaches very well. Having played with Fitzhenry and Martin. Franks was with him for two years with the u20s.Flanery was manager with Oulart when they won Leinstr for the first and only time. So it's looking positive going forward. I believe some of the players who wouldn't commit under Egan may well do now. Also he would I'm sure bring in the best of the u20s from the last two years.
It remains to be seen how things will work out but I have a good feeling as to the years ahead.
It may take a while to get it right but with the blend of youth and experience hopefully it will lead to a successful Reign for Keith and those around him.

Hope so too. The 3 year term is necessary I think. We need to temper our expectations for next year!

Probably need to see what the panel looks like before forming any expectations to be fair.

If some of the old guard give it one more year we are capable of winning Leinster.

If there's a rebuild which I suspect there will be, it will be year 3 before we see the best of them

I wouldn't see too many of the old guard quitting. You should know something about Lee's plans, although he's only 30 so hardly old? Mogie apparently going travelling. Matthew contemplating giving intercounty Football a shot for a year or 2 before he retires altogether. Not sure when that will be though as he is only 31. Not sure about Dee. Everyone else isn't even 30 yet.

There are rumours floating around chinner but nothing within the club.

I have heard dee, mogie and Matthew are all finishing up but you just don't know. Heard the same about mogie last year.

In fairness they'd be big losses for us to cope with.

We saw the impact of injuries last season.

Do we have anyone as athletic and assured as dee? As experienced and physical as matt or as explosive as mogie in front of goal to come in? Time will tell, and that's sport I suppose.

I'd expect rossi is on to them lads already about their plans
