Comments were probably the result of over-medication, Munsterchamps.

I hope they don't rush anyone back. No harm not to have a full team out again Waterford, we could potentially be playing them twice more so it's necessarily a bad thing to not show your full hand

Replying To katser:  "I found it strange the last day v Wexford when Galway were playing well and winning the game +6pts, Henry took lads off and when the subs came on Galway started playing bad!!!!
My motto is...when your playing well don't take lads off, bring subs on when your playing bad!
This is my predictions for the group finish.....
1. Galway 9pts
2. Kilkenny 8pts
3. Wexford 7pts
4. Dublin 4pts"
I admire your positivity and it could well come to pass. But were you at the game last Saturday? I was, and I then watched it back when I got home. If we play like we did in the 1st 50 minutes we won't finish on 7 points. If ye play like you did the last 20 minutes, or miss the chances you missed while on top for the 1st 50, you certainly won't finish on 9 points. And more worrying is the injury to Whelan. Your forward men looked completely at sea when he went off. Even with him playing you only scored 1-19 despite being well on top for 50 minutes. If he's missing I think you may struggle for scores against Dublin and Kilkenny. I'd like to see you beat both Dublin and Kilkenny but it's far from certain that you will.

My opinion is we have enough quality to beat both Dublin and Kilkenny especially at home.

If Wexford can't beat Westmeath, Laois and Dublin even playing badly..Well then ye may forget about it!
I don't think we will struggle for scores against KK or Dub, in fact I think Kilkenny and Dublin will struggle for scores against us.

You certainly do. And I genuinely thought you had the best hurling team in Ireland in 2015 and 2016.

Time will tell. I hope you are right that we will beat the other 3 and that you will beat Kilkenny and Dublin. If that turns out to be the case we only need a draw in Nowlan Park at most to make the Leinster final.

Derek McGrath & John Mul can't see past Waterford for the last two years. This is great as a fan but a bit silly when they are pundits expecting people to take them seriously. I used to love listening to McGrath but am turned off him recently. Could still listen to Mullane all day. I love his passion!!

Replying To foreveryoung:  "The pundits should know the players' names. It's their job. However, outside of Wexford, who else would be expected to know bar a handful of Wexford hurlers (Chin, Fanning, Ryan, MacDonald)? It's like being asked to name four of the Cork footballers. When teams are out of the limelight and not in the public eye, how do you expect anyone to know who they are?"
You're consistent with the Wexford comments I'll give you that.

Why should they know players? Are you having a laugh? Why the should a man who used to manage an intercounty team in Leinster know the Wexford panel. Haha. Why should pundits on one of the most popular hurling podcasts in the country who are all huge hurling fans know the Wexford panel. You couldn't make it up. The vast majority of lads on this forum would know nearly the starting 15 of every county in the top 9 and they're only normal fans.

Cahill must want to choke Derek. Making statements that set up his team for targeting

Waterford are a good side but they do have a habit of getting a bit carried away with a bit of success. It is a world away from winning All-Irelands and Munster titles compared to winning a league.
Yes they had a gear that Tipp didn't in the 3rd quarter and that was impressive, but Limerick are a different kettle of fish altogether and after Sunday's respective performances I can't see Waterford beating them.
You got to love John Mullane, commentates as he played.

I wonder why ever not! Do they not focus on Leinster football, either?

I noticed with the lads when they were young, say 8 to about 18, they could name all the players on the major hurling teams. After they went to college, they no longer had the same interest. Of course, it was really only the first 15 they'd have to know, as subs were seldom used back then.

My Irish cousins tell me that their experience is similar…kids, even the ones who play the game, don't have the same interest when they become adults.

I could name the Limerick team, and Cork as I've seen their games a lot over the past 4-5 years. Tipp, I could until 3-4 years ago, but not now; so many changes. Even KK whose team of the Noughties, I knew by heart, it'd best me to name 6-7 of them (2 Walshes, Walter, TJ, Murphy the goalie not much more). Dublin and Galway have changed a lot, even Waterford has many new guys. I'd know about half the Clare team. And that's about it. Offaly? Is Shane Dooley still hurling? I could not name one other name.

By any chance, are you still quite young Chinconhurl? Still in school perhaps?

I'm 51. If you watch much hurling you will know who the players are. If not you wont. Doesnt matter if you are Mr Sheedy or Mr Young the same applies.
