Kyle Hayes was not impressive against Galway, who have excellent ball winners in forward line. Galway are able to send long ball into forwards as they know they can complete physically with the Limerick backs. Highlight of the game yesterday was the incredible sideline cuts from Galway halfback!

I don't agree with you, I think for a big guy he has exceptional levels of skill and well able to score, I hear what your saying about the steps and striking but he is highly effective. Hurler of the year 2020 too. That said he did deserve to walk last night.

Your last comment is nonsense and a sweeping generalisation. I couldn't care less where a player is from. I'll call out playacting or dirty play, regardless. We've had players in Galway guilty of the same thing and I have no problem calling it out. You asked a question, you got an answer. It was the most obvious one as it resulted in a red card and a lot of discussion at the time. It involved a player who is still one of Limerick's best and is a real leader on the pitch. Every county has players who play act. I wish some supporters weren't so one-eyed when talking about something which can be a terrible blight on the game. I hope the Galway management think like you if we meet ye later in the year. He has a couple of all stars and a HOTY and every county manager in the country would bite their hand off to have him..he's a leader, a winner and despite what you might believe an incredibly skillful hurler. Won the AI for limerick in the first 15 mins last year along with lynch with 2-02 from play and a few turnovers

Gillane running into the goalie last night when the ball was gone? Fair enough it was innocuous enough by why do it at all? Not the first time he's followed through on a goalie either. As for his dive to try and win a penalty.... going down easy would be an understatement! Those in glass houses.....

I would have thought both Kyle Hayes and hegarty are very similar. I think hegarty is very skilful, great first touch, rarely fumbles, effortless striker and accurate scorer. His influence each and every game is massive. Very few hurlers in the country would have the skills and vision of Cian Lynch so not a fair comparison, he breaks the mould. On the match I think both teams will take positives from the weekend. Big improvement for Limerick this week, they ran out of gas in the closing minutes but were very competitive throughout and without WOD who was a massive loss. Hope both midfielders are ok. Ja Fallon was a Galway footballer who won AI's in 1998 and 2001. The man you are referring to is Ja Mannion who plays for Cappataggle - he is lightening quick in possession and can take his scores but probably reacted to provocation on a couple of occasions and was sent off which may have cost him his place on the panel / team.

Ja Mannion,his still around not sure if his on the panel this year,fast and a good hurler but a liability when it comes to discipline and always seems to get caught while others get away with it,but that's life.

Limerick scored 3-32 In AI final last year and only 4 points from frees-if we were divers how come we weren't winning more frees and scoring more from them. As for the goalie he is easily rattled and that's part of the game, if you were there last night you would have seen Hegarty getting plenty of attention off the ball and I don't see an Galway poster calling that out.

Ja Mannion, I think you're referring to. He's been very good at club level for Cappy in the last few years. I rate him. He's a regular scorer from play for the club, but hasn't had too many opportunities at county level.

Where did I say Limerick were divers????? People mentioned players going down easy. Gillane dived looking for a penalty. I was at the game hence how I know the great Fergal was roaring at him "to get up" same thing he said to Cathal Mannion. Hegarty gets what Hegarty gets. Same way Conor Whelan gets what Conor Whelan gets. If you think it's only Limerick players getting special treatment you might want to watch a few games outside of your own team.

Thanks to the genuine supporters in Galway who knew who I was talking about..it is mannion..he was small in stature but a very quick forward..the fact that joe has stepped away to might just be what some of the other players need to step up.. The Galway players well remember Hegarty's cowardly strike on JC in 2020! He escaped a red card that night in Croker. The most pleasing aspect from a Galway point of view is that they didn't allow Hegarty and others to bully them last night.

It was Kyle Hayes who sent the fast delivery that resulted in the goal! I thought the first half was the closest I have seen to a championship match so far. Both teams went at it with gusto, some great blocks, hooks and scores from each team. I have seen Fintan Burke scoring sidelines before but didn't realise until last night that he could take them from his left as well as his right side.

Good result in Ennis. Game was scrappy enough especially in the 1st half but got alot better as the 2nd half went on. ROC back and looked very sharp! Good performances all over the pitch. MOH, DOK, Donohue and Damien Reck look nearly back to their best. Dwyer looked good too. Mac had a right battle. Paudie Foley is growing into the no. 6 game by game.
