No doubt it was a red. Just wondering though why Mannion went down on the far sideline in the first half clutching his midriff when he clearly wasn't hit. Hate to see that sort of nonsense

It wasn't one of his best games but Fitzpatrick and Grealish in the corners are not good enough. The half backline and midfield was very good which took pressure off the Full backline. Yeah skillet a big improvement on last week and good to see the players who had question marks after last Sunday stepped up and played much better. The sending off caught up with us in the ending especially when our fitness is far behind everyone else. Galway looked very slick and sharp just like they did in the league last year .2 weeks to the next match and hopefully another big improvement from us. Hopefully O'Donoghues injury isn't serious.

Don't normally praise J.Cooney but himself and R.Glennon played very well together in midfield with the two East Galway men scoring 0-6 between them from play. Diarmuid Byrnes is one that springs to mind. When Clare's David Reidy was incorrectly sent off. He went down as if he was struck, when the reality was it was a little push. It definitely contributed to Reidy's red card.

It's amazing the amount of bitterness being aimed at limerick..we all agree it was a red and hopefully he will learn as will s few more..people saying great Donal og called out limerick,the same fella also mentioned Kurt zouma on s GAA programme,he doesn't like limerick due to what they have done to his pitiful cork in last few years..on the match thoroughly enjoyable..Galway pulled away in last 10 and fully deserved their win..I was surprised Fitzpatrick started as he has had a busy few weeks playing Fitz aswell..kiely hasn't used Cian lynch and sheflin didn't use niland..Galway can be very pleased with fintan burke and cooney.also thought mannion had a super game at wing back..on our side finn,Hayes and Flanagan did very well for first game back..gillane had a great first had and o neill was outstanding..I'm asking Galway posters,will mcinerney struggle to start?looks as if he hasn't legs anymore.. Don't know where you get the impression Donal Óg doesn't like Limerick. He congratulated Limerick on being worthy champions. He called out Hegarty for use of the hurl in striking an opponent in the head! The fact that Hegarty has a history of escaping censure compounds the problem! Hegarty's reaction was one of amazement in being sent off..., this guy needs to wake up!

Wow 4 years ago plenty of fellas have dived since. Last night Hegarty could have went down after Cooney barged into him for no reason but instead he stood up and over reacted-I suppose he should have fell down and rolled around. English got a far harder belt off of Mannion out over the line than he gave back so if he was 'cute' like Galway he should have went down too. Hegarty and Gillane get some amount of abuse off the ball and in fairness give it back but get no protection from refs but I know you and other non Limerick people don't want to see that.

I wouldn't rate Hegarty that highly, hurlingwise he wouldn't be a patch on Cian Lynch or Kyle Hayes. He often gets away with 6-9 steps, needs far more space to strike the sliotar but makes up for it in height, strength and size.
