Replying To Canuck:  "Are you for real ? Were you in the grounds ? He was bleeding out of the mouth from the hit and it was in concern for the injury. What would he need to exaggerate ? The dogs our side on the street new a penalty was coming."
No sorry was nt at the game I was at another game you commented on that you were nt .
Anyway the point I was trying to make was to help the simulation situation or exaggerating injuries to help refs and stop the gamesmanship if they had to leave the field either to be replaced straight away or until next break of play. I think there would be far less simulation or exaggeration make refs jobs a hell of a lot easier god knows its hard enough and we give them a torrid time over mistakes.
Apologies if the guy was genuinely hurt or bleeding
But I m sure you are aware if he's bleeding its blood sub and if it's head injury protocol is he is removed for his own safety with concussion being so dangerous to future health .
If the helmet comes off leave the field until assessed and replaced with a sub or returm with helmet back on the next break in play ..
Is there not a rule in the game ref can't continue if helmet removed during play ?
I was nt trying to pick on a waterford player I was just seeing what was in front of my eyes and using that particular incident as an example but if I was wrong I apologise to the players concerned . Yiu can only imagine how hard it is in real time for a ref to make a good call on it . We had the benefit if replays he did nt . For what it's worth he got the decision right
The game is played by men and we d like to think with honesty where the best team tactics win .
Lets try take away the negative simulation znd exaggeration.

Cian O Callaghan should have got a straight red. Two penalties were correct decision....goalscoring opportunities inside the 21? Don't know what's up for debate

Yeah Cian was out for blood on Sunday, nearly took Dunford's head off for the black card incident, taught the 2nd yellow was straight red territory too.

"Out for blood"!

That's a bit of an exaggeration now. It was a tough game no doubt but i don't think anyone on either side set out with such intentions.

Yeah it was only said in jest but the 2 incidents were remarkably robust challenges.

I don't believe I said anything derogative about the game I was not at. Only complementary things about both teams from what I saw on television. Minor reference to what looked like a missed shot to the head. May be wrong also. I sense you think I did something wrong. Neither do I have any issue with you expressing an opinion on a game you were not at.You were supporting your team.
Now as regards the Dublin Waterford game as another Wexford poster said there was nothing really to see here. The decisions were right. two penalties and those dreadful yellow cards under the rules.
I have to agree with you about the procedures and wishing that there is no simulation. However we now also see when a player is hit indiscriminately and hurt some who don't like the free deflect by calling it simulation. I hope the same as simulation attacking the victim does not become the norm also.

No u did nt but the point I was trying to make was u commented several times on the thread about simulation which I agree is a growing problem in our game.
My point was about another player casually walked up and removed his team mates helmet . Its this I would say was my point . As regards the player injured I watched the foul again whilst player was falling he knew exactly what he was doing hit the ground head up ball and hurl held off the ground
Looked to make sure where the ref was and then laid down which I think any player would do which I have no issue at all as he was fouled and hit hard
Now he took a heavy shot as is part of the game definite penalty and black card . I m sure he was sore and if you ever played the game and were nt sore after it u were nt doing ur job .
My entire point was the removal of the helmet by another player maybe I am wrong but if it needed taking off I think the player in question was certainly lucid and able enough himself .
The game cannot continue according to the rules when any players helmet is not on by taking off a helmet the ref has to come to see what the issue is whether its an injury or broken game has to be stopped until its back on my reason for introducing rule to leave field and return in next break of play do you think the hel et would gave been removed in this instance in that scenario
Do u not think this is being used as a reason to slow down play or to force the ref to make his decision .
I m just saying whatever rules are there they will be manipulated by coaches statisticians players to the advantage and play on the edge And gamesmanship
There are smart people coaches well some of them who come up with a new style of play tactics and ways of tweaking the rules to their advantage
It's only In last while players are being blown for thrown balls again as players were getting away with it up to now refs are stamping down on it now
The pull on the arm with the ball is surely a free but it's become acceptable but that may change same as the arm across the body . Your own post states simulation of the player jerking head back surely this is a case in point
if a player tackles me I will jerk my head back to make it look worse and let ref know I ve been fouled
Was it a foul or was it simulation this is what I mean by using the rules and going into that grey area .
How often are players overcarrying to have continuity in a game refs let it go if not blatant or it looks like he s going to play the ball
. Wexford goal was surely too many steps lre let it go limericks disallowed goal too many steps was blown up . I can't give yiu a reason why some days they go with u some days the don't.

Interesting to see how Limerick at home will react to last Sunday's loss. They won't want to lose to Galway. Probably right in the other games.

I was optimistic about Offaly preseason but they have a bad injury list and a small squad so they are in big trouble.

1A seems to be at a way higher level than 1B.

At the moment I would put the 5 other teams in 1A ahead of every team in 1B. So Offaly will be targeting the relegation playoff.

You need to let the Dublin thing go.

Totally agree. Like the Carlow incident there has to be some dignity and self discipline from players and coaches. I don't think you can ever make rules that won't be exploited but you must try. Simple one like thrown the ball in. Start by applying rules that exist more consistently would be a help. Stop ignoring this getting to know b.s. with the 10 year old in the stand watching it.
There is no tackle in the game allowed this is not helping. A Killmallock player coming the opposite way knocked down a Ballygunner player with a fair shoulder. Free. On Sunday a Waterford player was surrounded by five players. Could not get his hand free to move the ball and called for holding on. What was he supposed to do ? Give it to them. I understand the ball dropping between a group of player but once that ruck is started if anyone comes in, a free. I honestly don't know what would make a great game better but at this point in time sure that one ref can not implement any of this stuff. The speed of things plus major decisions like penalties and red cards reviewed there and then.

Take it as a good sign..
For the last 4 years that poster has been predicting Limerick would lose every match we played..

in fact ever since Kathy first starting posting s"*#e about Limerick we've gone on our best run since the 1930s.
Ironically Kathy has become a good luck charm, So keep the negative predictions coming!!
