Of course they have a big hill to climb but hurling needs them and others. There is usually plenty of blame to go around and many to pee on your grave when you go down. Some might consider Loughnane's comments as been brutally honest. I just consider them trying to be brutal for effect.

I believe there is something like 12 what would be first team choices injured or unavailable. Something like another 10 players from the panel played Fitzgibbon. Of that 10 Shane Bennett, Iarlaith Daly and Billy Nolan could be considered first team choices. Some of those Fitzgibbon player be be asked to play. That is how it goes this time of year.

Not often I'd be hoping you are right but I hope you are right. I fear not however!

Good call on Wexford, who played the type of game necessary to thwart Limerick! No nonsense hurling, they don't stand on ceremony, and played with great confidence and skill. Good to see it!

Wonder who coaches the Dubs on the basic rules of hurling at underage because it seems they haven't a clue! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2943 - 06/02/2022 17:41:59 2398619 Link 1 |

" However their pride is injured and I expect a back lash from them. " Well done Wexford. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3249 - 06/02/2022 18:05:29 2398631 Link 0 |

PItch horrible, horrible, here in Parnell Park. Shane Bennett turned once and half the field came up causing him to fall in a hole. Dublin took great scores and it was a well contested bad game. Danny was lucky not to go also but better to see players on the field. The neck and head challenges are getting ridiculous. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 3249 - 06/02/2022 18:07:32 2398635 Link 0 |

I'm interested to know what way refs are going..watched both matches today..ref in limerick match blew a lot for overcarrying but then seemed to allow some very dodgy physical challenges on both sides..ref in Waterford match started blowing for overcarrying then seemed to say to hell with it.in this one to some dodgy physical stuff left go..now I want to get the opinion of people on something that is bothering me big time..I've noticed now that players from all counties go down holding their heads no matter where on the body they seemed to have got a belt..it's going to cause trouble for a ref when he has to send someone off for fooling him..it's also happening huge time in football..also I don't think I've ever seen the ball thrown in so much as in Dublin match, ref hunted no one just threw it in with 6-8 players around..think it was a bad result for dubs today with Waterford missin so many players..I know conditions weren't good for any of the teams and underfoot was soft so I'm not going to give out, great to have hurling back in front of big crowds again.. I took specific notice of this today. A player in the open (no challenge) receives the ball in his hand takes 6 or 7 steps. One tap on the hurley and then another 6 or 7. Is that right?. In the Wexford Limerick game a Wexford player fouled a Limerick player with his hand. On the replay and do it again you you can see the hand went across to the opposite shoulder and never touched the neck or head. A foul though. The Limerick player jerked his head back as if he had got a guillotine slash. I am a huge admirer of this Limerick team but I wish they would stop the simulation crap. Neither am I saying our guys don't do it but the overall award goes to Limerick for this.

Not surprised with the Wexford win but very disappointed with Clare. Dublin if they understood the rules reference fouling the ball and man could have won their game rather easily.

Dublin robbed today. Two black cards for offences that aren't black card offences in the rule book. Both cynical offences but neither are a black card & penalty if the rules of the game are applied. dubshurling7 (Dublin) - Posts: 1017 - 06/02/2022 19:55:15 2398686 Link 1 |

Flat track bullies, Offaly should have worn jerseys with a bit of sky blue or Déise blue, or stripe maybe... :-)

Don't worry too much about that. He backs every opponent LK has met in every game over the past three, since they overcome his beloved Maroon and White and he sure as hell got the call wrong on your own counties game. The Galway, Tipp, KK results were all utterly predictable.

Canuck I often disagree with you and I'll do it again..limerick definitely not leaders in simulation as you say but that's your opinion..I'd ask you to have a look at both matches and tell me they were at it more than the other 3 teams today..why would limerick do it,when according to all supporters and commentators they are bigger and more physical than all the rest..this thing of fellas opening a helmet then saying it has been interfered with is really horrible.onwards and upwards from today.. Waterford used 10 players who played in semi final against Limerick. Dublin used 13 of the players used against Cork. So don't be getting carried away with yourself, You make it sound like it was the third team there today! BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4550 - 06/02/2022 20:20:52 2398708 Link 1 |
