Ah grow up, would you. There's no serious Galway fan on this forum or elsewhere getting carried away with that win. We're just happy that we're showing a bit of form and hoping that Henry can get more out of us than Shane O'Neill did.

I think 8/15 is about right :-)

40/1 Dublin each way!

8/15 isnt very tempting for certain winners unless you're talking about E/W?

Galway 8/1 looks ok! Generous odds actually! Early in season but there might be an all Ireland in this team.

That's not really true is it. Twas out in May last year i think when you beat us under Shane ONeill so Id hold fire on how Henry has improved he since last year

I'd say that 8/15 Limerick is as good a bet as the same price on Dublin footballers in 2018. No one was going to beat them that year. No one came within a asses roar of Limerick last year.

Looking at the likely path to winning again, they have two games they are even likely to lose if they tog out anything close to last year,

Don't believe in ante post betting but it's as good value as Honeysuckle to retake the Champion Hurdle.

Replying To Oldtourman:  "Well in '94 Kilkenny the then All Ireland Championships, were eight points up on that Offaly team, in the first half, and in ten minutes Offaly were up about eight on them. The Cats had about 40 minutes to recover and Offaly beat them anyway, as they did Galway, narrowly beaten finalists the year before and they also beat a fine Wexford team, so they richly deserved their All Ireland victory. I am just a little baffled that with half the hurling population of the Tribesmen and as you so readily so little success at underage and club level we have twice the number of All Irelands they have. Despite the fact that Galway won the 1980. All Ireland hurling did not start that year.
By the way we do have two All Irelands in Football and were the first team to beat Dublin in an All Ireland football Final. And we had reasonably good football teams from time In the the forties, sixties, nineties, oughties and even at the start of the last decade we gave the Kerry Aristocrats plenty of it- we are not like KK' who give no support whatsoever to Football.
Of course we are well off the big three in hurling. Cork have five times our hurling population and Kilkenny play absolutely no other game. Tipp is a truly mighty hurling county of course.
Limerick clubs have won All titles in both codes in at All Ireland Club level with NIHE winning the Football back in '78 and Na Piarsaigh the hurling in '16. No harm to check facts every now and again.
Anyway what does club titles matter if All Irelands at Senior Level are scant in the ground.
Well may you mention Offaly. Our Two counties have a stunning record in Finals against the tiny Midland County- a 100% failure.
I have never seen an East Galway man, and I know a good few of them, that would prefer to see Galway win Football titles before hurling ones. And yes Galway do perform well in football and I for one would never belittle their achievements by saying 'Ah Shure they are well off the big two'. You have to take into account that special circumstances make it easier for at least four of the' big five' to win All Irelands and even more significantly always has."
"we are not like KK' who give no support whatsoever to Football."

Nonsense. There is plenty of football being played in Kilkenny.

Going by championship form in the past 4 years Limerick are the hot favourites and rightly so. I expect them to win the AI again by at least 10 points. Not sure who will win Leinster, not much between the top four there. The big difference for each team this year, an unknown, is getting the timing and preparation right for a July final.

Limerick are definitely beatable. When Wexford and Galway matched them in physical stakes they seemed a very ordinary team. Especially against Galway, Limerick wilted noticeably in closing stages. Time will tell but I think we'll see new champions this year. Wexford are playing well , as are Galway. We don't need the Dublin type dominance for a decade like we saw in football!

Any word on how Honeysuckle is shaping up this year Barney? Any contacts down Waterford way?!!

E/W odds or are you suggesting they can beat Limerick? Not happening for me and thats not just Galway. Thats for any team. Only hope is they lose the likes of Quaid, D. Morriseey and Lynch. Then the rest have a chance.

Every team is beatable. If we arent to win it this year, as is likely but not certain, I'd have no problem seeing Limerick win it again. Be nice to see Waterford or Dublin win it either as it's been such a long time since either last won it.

Do you remember the 2021 league? They couldnt care less about it. Their only priority is to get a few decent backs up if injury strikes sorted and a replacmeent for Casey - which depsite playing little looks like it will be Mulcahy. I thought along the exact same lines last year but they timed their run to perfection.

Time will tell. Limerick are beatable and the chasing pack are getting closer. This Limerick team is no Kilkenny .

Dublin's dominance came to an end just as Kilkenny's did and Limerick's will.

Not this year I think. The only teams I could possibly see beating Limerick are Tipp and the Cats; the former if they've learned anything from the Munster final and the latter purely on the basis that if they were to meet Limerick in a semi final or final they would not be beaten before they left the dressing room.

Having seen the Champion hurdle and the Hatton and looking at the opposition, I could nearly steer her home myself!

limerick looked very ordinary in the 2021 league too when tipperary drew with them waterford and galway beat them .....move the clock forward 2/3 months and limerick hammered every team that came there way. cork by 8 in munster semi. came from 10 down against tipp to win by 5 ....beat waterford by 11 in the all ireland semi final and cork by 16 in the final so rockies dont be too excited just yet.

I agree. Limerick should be firm favorites for the All Ireland. The main battle is for second place. Limerick don't NEED the league other than for fitness reasons. A lot of the other teams such as Galway don't even know who will start for them so the league is extremely valuable to them. I guess Cork and Waterford would be the biggest threats to Limerick but even they are light years behind. Barring major injuries of course.

I think Shefflin will instill self belief into this Galway team. Shefflin is a battler and doesn't play second fiddle to anyone. Galway will go out expecting to win! Match Limerick in the physical stakes and you have a winner!

Yes, we're beatable but to suggest that league matches against Wexford and Galway in February will have a bearing on the championship is naive at best.
Limerick, as far as I know are a couple of weeks behind other teams in our training schedule. Any limerick supporter at the Gaelic grounds on Saturday couldn't care less that Galway ran away with the last 10 minutes, we cared about how Cathal O Neill would do at 11 or Nash at 6..wanted to see an improvement in general play and see is anyone putting their hand up for Casey's position.

Cork were flying in the early rounds of the league last year and we lost 2 in a row again..
Didn't panic then and certainly won't now. If we lose I hope its to a team who'll go on and win the all Ireland like Waterford, Wexford etc good hurling counties who are long overdue a bit of success.
