Replying To Bernardo:  "Our best chance to beat the Dubs and get two points on the board.

The dubs start slow and do not take the league seriously."
Exactly and if it's a team like they put our against Longford we should win.

obviously early days for anyone in the league. We beat the dubs in the first round back in 2019 in clones...here's the players who featured that day that probably wont / definitely wont feature on saturday...
beggan, boyle, o'connell, kerr, walshe, d hughes, kelly, mcanespie, carey, malone, mcmanus and mcadam

after that we've got the following who i guess we'll build the team around
Duffy, r wylie, mccarron, garland, bannigan, o'hanlon, ward and mccarthy

after that you've got the likes of o'toole, lavelle, mohan, woods and jones....

Trying to be positive here when we are officially in a state of transition but I've just counted 13 good experienced footballers there...add mcanespie, mansy, hughes, o'connell and o'donnell to the list and we've nearly got a viable squad for the year...mightn't be all doom and gloom. and this year, more than any, is a good opportunity for lads to put their hands up and prove themselves on the big stage

It won't be that team. Their first choice team have been playing challenges bet Armagh by a couple of points and hammered Cavan.

They are missing a few Byrne gone for the year. Fitzsimmons, McCarthy, Cluxton not expected to see much if any league mins. Con O'Callaghan currently on his travels.

Love the optimism on here!
The counterbalance is that we got a hiding in our last game out and the bookies have the Dubs as massive favourites.
The reality is we are sure to be without a half dozen first team regulars before we consider the likes of Ward and Wylie who haven't played at all yet, or players who we know have injury problems like McAnespie, Jones and Bannigan so nobody knows what team we can put out but it will be well down on experience - not ideal against the All Ireland champions in Croke Park in a live televised match. Wouldn't be surprised with a performance similar to the Kerry away game in the second round last year where our young team were competitive for half an hour against their mostly second string and then fell away in second half. Hope I'm wrong.

Think we'll have a decent squad later in the year for the All Ireland series but these first three league games against the best teams in the country are a really tough start to the season.

Is young Leonard part of the squad this year? He was very unlucky with injury last season.

Was wondering that myself. We could do with a few more lads over 5'8 alright.

Still with the squad. Still very unfortunate with injuries. Broke the jaw with his club in championship. From what I've heard he's killed with the hamstrings. Hope to see him soon tog out.

Might be the 3 best teams but their putting out lesser teams by the sound of it. Kerry with no Clifford's is good for us n Dublin say their not playing major players to later on. Don't know why we carrying Leonard if he's injured from the start there's bound to be other options fit out there

That's a pity he looks like he could be a very good player if he got a run.

Someone earlier mentioned the possibiity of Niall Kearns being back or available again. Does anyone know if this is right?

I think we should be looking at 4 points from the first 2 games. Dubs and Kerry are still on their holidays.
Jaysis the blind hope is back.

Best wishes to mgmt and squad ahead of new season. Enjoyed reading all the previews writing us off for another year. You love to see it. Either way it's a new era and chance for new men to stand up and grab their opportunity.
