It does nt work like that. Winners are greedy. The more you win the harder you take a loss and the hunger becomes insatiable again. Some here probably can't understand the Dubs being over the moon with this one. I certainly do! You could see this win meant more to them than many others. Fair play to them! I don't know if it still happens since the fans are banned from the field but I did see Jack Ó Connor going around to different Dublin players shaking their hands and congratulating them. I actually saw him run after one player to tap him on the shoulder to shake his hand as the player was heading for the presentation. Interesting end of season stats:- Top Scorers overall were- Shane McGuigan 2-52 D. Clifford 5.42 Top Scorers from play were- Colm Basquel 5-17 (surprised at this tbh). I know the dust has hardly settled but how many Dublin players are in with a serious shout for an All Star. Hopefully Cormac gets his first. Finished with 0-26 Mick Fitz - cert Jamesie - cert Fento - cert Collie Clucko in with a chance I thought Lee Gannon had a super season also. Mannion perhaps.? Lee Gannon Cluxton have a great chance and one of Costello or Basquel will get one I'd say. I doubt Mannion as he did nt play enough but motm in a final might sway it. Fento has been top 2 in midfield all year. Clucko only conceded one (disputed) goal all year, his distribution was immaculate and he scored 2 pressure points in the AI final. Hard to see another keeper getting it. Mannion had a good year for sure. Good candidate Difficult to see where others will come from. Collie had 2 or 3 decent games. Lee has been good. He is what you see, He obviously takes defeat badly and while he doesn't hide it i can't honestly say I've ever seen him do or say anything that might be construed as disrespectful of the opposition. Even his commiseration with Kilkenny last year was interpreted by some who know neither as some sort of insult. You can't win! I'm sure at the end of the day he hates being beaten by Dublin, just as Heffo hated being beaten by Kerry. It hurts, and it should, and it shows, I was listening to him doing an interview on RnaG a week or so before the match and he was clearly just as infused with the history and lore or the rivalry as anyone else. They may get 5 or 6." Agree Joxer it will be 5 or 6. If I was a betting man I would be on: Clucko Mick Fitz Jamesie Fento Cormac - (never got one before which I think could be a factor also tbh. Biggest complement i could pay him, is he pulled of a Cian O'Sullivan year pal. Think he's like McCarthy around 2013, doesn't get the recognition he deserves. One of our best and absolute quality. From a Dublin pov, defo Con left 2 easy marks behind him on Sunday and should really have scored with that rocket that came back off the crossbar. He could have finished 2nd top scorer from play. The after match review RTE podcast with Tomas O'Shea was very interesting. He said Mick Fitz did an excellent job on DC. Felt that Dublin fully deserved the win . Also, said that this one will hurt the most - he met with some players/friends in Kerry on Monday i think it was, and the thing was, that they couldnt argue with the result and in his words couldnt put any blame on the ref either, which made it harder for them to take. Absolutely no excuses - the Dubs were better. The impact of Jack, Mannion and Clucko this year was also highlighted. Along with how Howard played until he got cramp. The more you think about what Cluxton has done this year since he came back, and 100% kick out success rate in the final along with 2pts - an All Star is very possible for him.
