Hard defeat to take on the chin yesterday, penalty miss proved costly and still should have leveled it up with the last kick of the game but for whatever reason Shane Walsh can't find his form of last year. Yondu (UK) - Posts: 845 - 19/06/2023 19:48:33 2487595Link 0 |

| That wasn't a draw. Up to now there's been a rotation every year, and it was Connacht's turn to meet ulster in a semi if the provincial winners got through. That was there and known by every team (Mayo, Roscommon etc), at the start of the year. Galway got the tough draw in Connacht and then capitalized on that As, for actual draws, Galway had a pot of Armagh, Cork and Clare last year, got Armagh. They got the toughest group by far of the provincial winners this year. They then get Mayo, again the toughest of 3 options. It's a huge statistical anomaly. 1 in 27 chance PressureKick (UK) - Posts: 318 - 20/06/2023 10:37:27 2487707Link 1 |
| Do people still actually think Ian Burke is good ? Hardly ? The token all star he got in 2018 seems to get him into the team when he adds nothing. Was half decent in a Connacht semi this year and everybody goes insane. Hasn't done a tap except get black carded v Tyrone since. | Cillian O'Connor is match fit. Sure he scored 2-6 in a super showing in the senior league in Mayo at the weekend. I'd say that would merit at least a good 20+ mins appearance for him. togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 1101 - 20/06/2023 10:57:23 2487720Link 0 |
| They played him in club game to improve his match fitness. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 8318 - 20/06/2023 11:11:39 2487728Link 0 |
| He's a very nice, very intelligent footballer with lightning quick hands etc but just not anywhere near impactful enough for a team with ambitions of winning Sam. It's just not going to happen. There are better forwards in the Galway set up not getting a start or sufficient time now. Our mgmt and coaching staff can deliver but you'd wonder is it a meritocracy in selection in our camp or are there certain sideline loyalties clouding better judgement when obvious change is needed? Mgmt need to be very honest with themselves if we're to succeed. Some tough personal calls have to be made. togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 1101 - 20/06/2023 11:20:44 2487737Link 0 |

| A nice footballer ? Any wonder we haven't won an All Ireland in over 20 years...... Name me any team which plays a 2 man inside line where 1 of the 2 is pretty much guaranteed to not score ? MapleSyrup (Galway) - Posts: 165 - 20/06/2023 11:42:28 2487747Link 1 |

| I'm not disagreeing with you. If you read my post, I'm saying he shouldn't be starting or getting much game time. togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 1101 - 20/06/2023 12:40:06 2487774Link 1 |
