Replying To avonali:  "There's nothing about that in the media!! It's curtains if that's true! NO way any squad could take a hit like that and contest an All-Ireland SF."
It's just breaking now.

The whole squad tested this morning. Bound to be more cases.

Re-Fixture surely?

Can't see it happening. Very hard on those involved if it transpires to be accurate (there maybe only a couple) but already precedent set with Sligo and mayo to lesser extent. It's either play or walkover.
Not satisfactory IMO

Replying To royaldunne:  "The quality in ulster has fallen dramatically. There is zero chance of Tyrone causing a upset. And only those in Tyrone will think they can. If Tyrone can keep it to single figures it will be a good day for them."

Not sure who you're talking to. I keep in touch with a lot of Tyrone GAA fans. Nobody in Tyrone sees anything other than a handy Kerry win, and that was before covid put the tin hat on it. Way it's looking, if the weather is good, think I'll give it a miss and go for a cycle instead, rather than sitting through what inevitably will be a tediously one-sided encounter.

According to reports it could be played the week after. There is enough leeway to fit it in

Replying To Greengrass:  "Fascinating game in prospect and I'm really looking forward to it. I think you are being a little hard on your defence. I also think that in recent big games it's not your defence that hasn't performed it's your attack. In the replay in 2019 Kerry only scored 0-15."
That's true greengrass but the reason our forwards only put up 15 points was they were too busy trying to block up the hole in our defence, although we missed a lot that day as well though .

I think we're playing more to our strengths now since last years disaster against Cork.

Our lads just got to accept that we just can't defend as good as the other top teams and concentrate on what we are good at.

Sorry to hear that essmac bout the covid outbreak. Hopefully it's just close contacts and no big outbreak. We will know more in a couple of days. If Tyrone can't field a team I d prefer a re fixture.

I think the "play or walkover" thing only applies to the early stages of the championship? Afaik At All Ireland semi final /final stage postponements may be allowed.

It was only a matter of time before a covid outbreak effected a big team before a major game. We had a small outbreak before the Leitrim game.

This is hard on Tyrone but won't be ideal for Kerry either of they end up playing a Tyrone "B" team or get a walkover.

There's plenty of time to delay the match if it's nescessary, sure didn't we wait till Dec last year for the All Ireland final, don't see what the big panic is to get it finished by the end of August.
Hope Tyrone can have a full panel to pick from, they'll need all they have to beat Kerry.

There will righty be uproar from clubs if the all Ireland final is pushed back.

For 1 week I think they will understand hopefully. This was bound to be explained to clubs that due to COVID things may change

I'm sure Kerry will have no issue putting the game back.

I'm invoked without. Club and lads have holidays and or things booked around club fixtures in every county which we have been told are set in stone. I do think Tyrone should be given time to recover but I don't see the All Ireland final date being moved. It would mean the winner of Kerry v Tyrone would only have a week to prepare for the final

Final won't be moved. If match is it will be week beforehand or gaa will be destroyed at hq after refusing Sligo the same.

As a Kerry supporter and speaking only for myself I'd have no problem with the game being postponed for a week or 2 as it would mean Tyrone can have the time to sort themselves out and it would also mean the game would be a stand alone fixture which it should have been anyway with Covid still around and putting people from 4 different counties in the 1 spot is asking for trouble.

The question I have is would a week be enough for Tyrone to get the all clear and get some proper preparation for the game? Should the gaa give them a couple of weeks to be fair?

A weeks long enough when you consider some teams beaten in provincial finals got 6 days before qualifiers.

Well I know a final can be ré arranged so I don't see why a semi can't be ré fixed. Anyway we will all know more Monday.

Question for Tyrone fans. Is it not the case that the whole squad would have been vaccinated by now? If so, this basically means that all sporting fixtures going forward are apt to be postponed or cancelled. This is very worrying for all of us.
Is this how it's going to be for the foreseeable??? Half empty stadia, squads having to pull out of matches, our sports calendars decimated etc etc.??? That's an appalling prospect.
The vaccine has not been the silver bullet we all thought it would be.

Agreed but then it gives the winners only a week to prepare for an all ireland final (, unless gaa put that back) and the mayhem with tickets etc would be crazy but yes in the spirit of fairplay Tyrone should be given time if the news comes back bad on Monday.
