Anyway, it was only a few months ago on here that the world and their mother and every referee was against Limerick, was it not?"
Well if you were looking at last Nights Under 21 game and saw the hauling down of players in both squares with no black cards given, you would wonder what Owens and O'Dwyer were doing giving McCarthy and Casey black cards- or do different rules apply for different counties.

From my understanding the rules at under 17 and under 20 are different to senior..I thought same last night that black card was being used until I saw the deliberate pull downs inside the 20 meter line..that's why I mentioned having some bit of sympathy for refs..rules change depending on what day and what age group they referee..

No they are not. It is a flawed and unfair procedure. To put it in a nut shell teams are favoured twice by the hat and teams are penalized twice by the hat. Once at provincial and again at qualifiers.

Look at the different draw structures the various provinces have. Think Munster is the only province now with a total open draw? In Leinster hurling the previous yrs finalists cannot meet til the final. In football the semi finalists from the previous year are automatically into quarter final and kept apart. Crazy

Which gave last year's finalists an automatic exemption from relegation. But but but wait Munster is so unfair how can this be

Crazy? You can't compare the Munster Hurling Championship with the Leinster HC. It's like comparing chalk with cheese. If you don't understand that, you shouldn't be making ignorant comments about it.

By the way. Read my comments again. Munster is the only provincial championship that has an open draw and I applaud them for that. Every team is treated equally. If you're saying Leinster should treat it's teams differently please explain why. I look forward to your insightful opinion

Kerry might disagree.

The Munster Championship has 5 evenly matched counties, or there abouts.

Look at this year's Leinster Championship, 6 counties, no way evenly matched.
In the quarter-finals. Antrim lost by 18 points to Dublin; and Laois lost by 20 points to Wexford.
But you want an open draw, where Antrim and Laios could get a bye to the semi-finals?

Funny it never seems to be Kerry people virtue signaling about Kerry hurling.
Usually Leinster fans which is curious

So you agree with segregation in Leinster but equally moan about it in Munster

I'm not in the first bloom of youth and at times am not familiar with the lexicon of modern terminology. What exactly is "virtue signalling"?

Last time I saw it Kerry are in the joe mcdonagh cup. They were beaten by Meath last weekend so by your logic Meath should be in the Leinster championship along with Offaly Kildare Wicklow Longford Westmeath Carlow. Antrim and Laois earned the right to compete in the Leinster championship and should be treated equally. Kerry and cork tried to make life cosy for themselves in the Munster football championship a few years ago and the rest of the counties there gave them the 2 fingers and thus they can now meet at any stage instead of just the final….and Tipp winning last year showed how right they were to stand up to the bullies

A lot of waffle here about the qualifier draw and some great games down for the weekend and no talk of them.
You would have to favour Waterford against Laois.
Clare have had two serious games played which will stand to them.I fancy Clare here although Wexford put in a mighty effort against KK but how good are Kilkenny?
I think Dublin will take KK in the Leinster final though KK will be ready for them seeing how they took down Galway who were favourites for the AI with most of us.The KK work rate and intensity is something else but I fancy this Dublin team under Kenny to match them.
That leaves us with the Munster final and old foes Tipp and Limerick.Limerick have had a bit of an indian sign on Tipp in some recent encounters.Tipp are largely relying on the old guard so is Sheehy not overly happy with the younger players in the panel. It might be too much to expect Limerick to dominate Tipp again. If Limerick get their fluid game up and running it will be hard to stop them.Limerick to shade it here in a very tight game.

All these notions about rigged draws seem a bit mad to me too, got into an argument with a Wexford poster on our thread about it all, seems to think anyone who disagrees with him is spineless, on his logic and rationale plenty of people on this thread can join me in the spineless brigade :)
