Shane came on for the last 5 minutes. Be nice to have Rory and Dwyer back on the pitch also.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "Unlucky start but work rate is good but we're still looking low on confidence. I run of a few scores would be a tonic now"
It wasn't really an unlucky start. We were slow out of the blocks, and TK was on fire. I passed the team bus an hour and a quarter before throwing on the Limerick by pass.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "Much much better performance all around. Really great showing from our more established players who lifted those around them. As we grew in confidence we got better and better.

Red card was harsh from what I saw. He was pulling on the ball"
Jacko was pretty invisible the 1st half, Kevin didn't get on much ball either. Both were better in the 2nd half. Clare have no depth at the back. Cleary, Duggan and Mcinerney or Ryan were getting out of a car at the ground when we were going in.
TK roasted Eoin Ryan who as has been the case this year started slowly. He was much better after the 1st quarter. Keith switched him and Foley. Clares gameplay with the wind was atrocious. Loads of long ball into only 2 forwards who were smaller than their markers, and only brought Shanagheron when it was too late. We were much better, played a short enough game with and without the wind, our handling and running into space was miles better. Some lads still took too many goes to get the ball up. Delighted for Casey, after he got the goal he was like a new man. Found space, reacted quickly to a ball back off the post, you could just see the weight lifted off him after fluffing goal chances in the previous rounds. Dunbar is much better in midfield than wingback. Still not sure about Charlie yet, but he's young. Himself and Simon didn't always make the best decisions with the ball in hand, which is a shame as both were tigerish without the ball. Conor Foley was good. Cian Byrne got out in front and his touch was better than before. Even while not fully up to speed Chin is a superb hurler. Fanning puckouts were better. We could've won that game by alot more, it was really encouraging to have put 3 good halves of hurling back to back now.
Hope to God we get a decent crowd out to support the lads next weekend, they all deserve it.

Replying To OpenStandWall:  "Good win delighted for those who made the journey. Clare looked rusty enough but we played well overall once we settled down and we were definitely a lot more direct with the ball than we were vs KK even with short passing. Running off the shoulder a lot more too.

Thought the worst after they went 1-2 to no score up, good performances from Lawlor and Hearne in particular along with Casey and Conor Foley. Stating the obvious but Chins presence in that team can't be understated. We probably could've won by more, thought we should've had a penalty in the first half too for the foul on Casey. Didn't really see the red card as it was down the opposite end and the sun was a curse on that side. Hopefully there's highlights on the tele tonight.

That performance can't just be a flash in the pan needs to be backed up next Saturday evening now."
I was down that end and still couldn't really see what it was for. It was a ruck situation and I think Cian caught Lohan when trying to pull on the ball on the ground.

Replying To goreyll:  "We missed 4 or 5 scorable frees and Dunbar had a couple of misses that should have been converted. Thought Lawlor's two scores were class. Overall the team were a lot more vocal, Jack O'Connor was a real leader alongside Chin. Forwards got to the ball first which hasn't been the case."
Dunbars miss in the first half was down to the wind. Even some of the Clare lads missed into that end. The one dropped short should've been put over though. Overall I thought he did pretty well all the same.

In reality have we ever had a player as important to us as Chin is now?

Nit saying he's our greatest by any means but he is vital to us and we are literally half the team without him.

Not sure I remember a player before being as vital, any ideas?

Replying To ElGranSenor:  "Hurl with dog, get all the injured lads back, hope no-one gets injured, and then bring Patsy Molloy in at centre-back (Damien Reck to wing-back and Richie Lawlor to midfield) and we have the makings of a decent team

If all those things were to happen, I don't see any reason why we couldn't be capable of winning Leinster because I don't think we should fear Kilkenny, Dublin, or Galway (And could probably add Offaly to that list though) although at the same time, they're all probably saying the same about us

Don't think there's much between 1st and 5th in Leinster right now, Antrim have had a poor league to date, wouldn't want to be in any way complacent when we play them though as our last four Championship performances against Westmeath and Antrim have been turgid"
Is patsy injured again or why didn't he come on today

I agree was just saying we could have won by a wider gap

I thought Eoin Ryan did well on David Reidy after the switch

Wasn't there a period when Paul Codd got basically all of our scores for two seasons?

He did. He's done well every game this year after a slow start to each one

Tony Doran, Nicky Rackard were probably better goal machines but currently Lee Chin is a serious man to win his own ball and score. Hopefully he stays fit.

Apparently kehoe is back in contact training this week. Rowley is out for 12 weeks, mac got operation on his hip, he was there today with one crutch. Rory should be OK for next weekend.
Can't still for the life of me understand why Molloy not starting tbh, that failed pick up from our wing back for the first goal today was criminal. Free taking is still an issue and will cost us in close matches. But overall today was great and as posters already said we could have won by more, we need to build on it next weekend. Job well done today and badly needed for a confidence boast

Just saw it on the telly. Worst red card I've ever seen.

He's pulling on the ball as it was kicked away. Absolute nonsensical. Surely to God that will be overturned

Red card was harsh, he went to play the ball in fairness. Ref overall was poor.

You would have to Imagine that red card will be rescinded. Great win today but I just can't help but feel the lack of a proper free taker is going to cost us later in the year when the chips are down.

Congrats Wexford. Hurling needs your challenge. When more consistent you can challenge anyone.

I predicted a few days ago that Clare would win by 11 points. How wrong i was and delighted to be wrong.
I did say however that we should go there and let them know we were not willing to get rolled over but i did'nt think we would win based on recent results.
This was a great win and i know its only the league but to win comfortably in their backyard is brilliant.
We showed a lot of grit and guts throughout.
Chin was flying as was Casey, Hearne, Reck and Lawlor. In fact all the lads played with fire in their bellies. Ryan was getting roasted by Kelly but when Reck went on him it stopped his gallop completely.
Well done guys, enjoy the victory and hopefully we get more of the same on Saturday night against Galway.

We haven't had a free taker of the same caliber since Paul Codd but I don't remember there being such a drop off other than frees if he didn't play.

Chin is different imho, he is literally the difference between us competing or not, phenomenal and I genuinely wonder do we appreciate how good he is.
