Love the confidence but we should/could have been in the McDonagh Cup based on last year's displays.

Can't imagine the traffic if it's held on the 17th.

With regards to the league I can't see us making a league final now but tbh it's all championship for me this year I wouldn't be too bothered at all.

Think there's 6 of last years starters underage again (Paddy Quigley, Ben Harpur, Jack Dunne, Sean Hyland, Jack Nolan and Colin Carley) and another 4 off the panel of 2023. Think Sean O'Brien from Cushinstown is seen as another good prospect, was starting on the Good Counsel senior team this year, he's actually still u16.

Would make the most sense if they had the Cork game on at 2PM on the 16th, Cork supporters aren't going to be able to make it back in time to the Rebel County to watch the rugby so having the hurling at 2PM would give them the chance to watch it somewhere in Wexford Town and would also give Wexford fans the chance to watch the rugby from their own homes

Re. the Cork match - I wonder is it the case that since it's the last round of the League, all the matches must be played at the same time?

Which means that if even just one of the 12 counties involved didn't agree to a change, it couldn't happen?

I know Wexford want to change, and so do Cork, but Croke Park have been silent on it so far. This could be the reason why.

Think it was said in jest more than anything.

Rather than doing a Championship XV, I'll break it down by position instead

GK: Looks like their mind is made up here although do think Duggan should start the next two games, there was a reason why we were looking to replace Fanning after 2022

Full-back line: Think we're best off leaving Jippo at #3, would move Conor Foley to wing-back. Shane Reck should be a guaranteed starter, then it'll come down to one of Niall Murphy/Eoin Ryan/Simon Donohoe/Conor Devitt (Wouldn't want to play MO'H at corner-back). Donohoe struggled badly last Sunday, Ryan played well on Sunday and might be the best player long-term, Murphy hasn't done much wrong yet though. Hard one to call

Half-back-line: Damien Reck and Foley should start here, would prefer Reck at wing-back as it'd give him more scope to raid up the pitch than centre-back. Not a big fan of McGuckian, think Molloy will be a long-term starter for us (More of a #6 than a wing-back for me) but might make more sense this year to start O'Hanlon at centre-back

Midfield: Don't think Liam Óg or Dee have 70 minutes in them, might make sense to use them from the bench to close out games with their experience. Have a few options here but Hearne and Lawlor really put their hands up on Sunday. This could be CBD's best position long-term, would have more freedom to hurl (A bit like Jamie Barron) but might make more sense to use him off the bench this year and start him next year

Half-forward line: We don't have a lot of ball-winners IMO so Chin plays here rather than the FF line and for as much as he is maligned, Jacko starts too. The other spot is harder to pin down, would like to see Foley deployed as a Cian Lynch-style CF, could then play Jacko and Lee on the wings. Don't really like the idea of Cathal Dunbar on the wing, he's a midfielder for me. Could maybe play Liam Óg on the wing but again, I think it'd make more sense to use him from the bench

Full-forward line: I know some think we should have Mac on the bench but I think we'd be cutting off our nose to spite our face that way IMO. Rory and Seamus Casey as the other two corner-forwards, could then maybe use Cian Byrne from the bench or else move Chin in there if needed

DCU v UL in the freshers hurling final on HE GAA YouTube channel tomorrow night at 6, probably be 4 or 5 from Wexford starting for DCU, Adam Screeney the star name on the UL team but they also have Jack Leahy who is 1 of the main men on the Cork u20s and Killian Doyle off the Kilkenny panel too.

He is. He's only in 3rd year! He scored 1-6 or so against Waterford in a recent challenge game.

Antrim v Tipp and Waterford v Kilkenny are already scheduled for 3pm on the 16th, so I don't think that's the reason.

In the semi final I think Dylan Purcell, Robbie Delaney, Darragh Farrell, Luke & Darragh Murphy all started and Darby Purcell was in the panel, think Cian Doyle is too but is injured.

You never know with us. We are known for optimism! I guess it's not impossible we could get that far with everyone fit.

Wexford v Cork is on the 17th. All of the (final) rugby 6 Nations matches are being played on the 16th.
